Just picked up a 2025 Honda CR-V and realized it didn’t come with a full-size spare, so I want to keep a tire inflator in the cargo area for small pressure drops or an emergency. I’m looking for something that works well with the CR-V’s tire valve setup, is easy to use at night (good gauge/light would be nice), and can run off the 12V outlet without being painfully slow or overheating. Bonus if it’s not super loud and fits neatly in the under-floor storage. Any specific inflators you’ve used with a 2025 CR-V that you’d recommend (or avoid)?

Ok so quick question — are you planning to inflate from like 25→35 psi kinda stuff, or do you want “can limp me home from near-flat” capability? On my last CR-V I cheaped out first and it was sloooow + got hot fast, plus the cord barely reached the rear tire (annoying at night). Switched to a mid-tier 12V unit with a screw-on chuck and a real LED, and honestly… night/day, no complaints. What’s your max budget, like under $40 or closer to $100?

Ok so for budget + actually decent speed, I’ve been happy with EPAuto 12V DC Portable Air Compressor Pump 100 PSI (Digital Tire Inflator, LED Light)—usually like $25–$40. Fits the CR-V valve fine, the light’s usable, and it shuts off at the set PSI so you dont overdo it. If you want quieter/smoother, Fanttik X8 Apex Portable Tire Inflator (150 PSI, Rechargeable, LED Light) is often $60–$90 on sale, then you’re not relying on the 12V plug. good luck tho

TL;DR: I’d grab the AstroAI 12V DC Portable Air Compressor Tire Inflator 100 PSI (Digital Gauge, LED Light) (~$25–$35) for budget, or step up to the VIAIR 88P 12V Heavy Duty Portable Compressor 120 PSI (Alligator Clips) (~$85–$110) if you want faster/less overheating.

I’ve used both (on my CR-V and another Honda) and they work fine with the standard Schrader valves, no weird adapter stuff. The AstroAI is honestly great for topping off (like +3–8 psi), has a backlit screen + LED for night, just kinda loud. The VIAIR 88P is quicker and I’ve been happy with it… no complaints, but you gotta clip to the battery (12V socket is usually limited). Fits under-floor storage if you keep the bag tight, right?

Congrats on the new ride! The 2025s look amazing and I am so stoked for you! I've been a CR-V owner for ages and I totally agree that being prepared is the best way to go. Like someone mentioned, having that peace of mind is huge! My own experience taught me a big lesson about reliability:

  • I once had a tiny inflator that actually blew the fuse in my dash right when I needed it most
  • It happened at night in a bad neighborhood and it was honestly terrifying
  • Since then, I have been super cautious about what I keep in my cargo area I really want to help you find the perfect one so you dont end up in a mess like I did! Just wondering tho... are you mainly looking to keep this in the car just for emergencies, or are you gonna be using it for stuff like bike tires or camping gear too? Knowing that helps a ton with picking the right power source!
