I recently picked up a new Hyundai Santa Fe, and with all the rain we’ve been getting lately, I’m already seeing a ton of road grime and splash-back hitting the lower body panels. I really want to protect the paint before any rock chips start appearing, but I’m torn between the OEM guards from the dealership and aftermarket options like WeatherTech or Husky Liners. The factory ones look sleek, but I’ve heard they might be a bit too small to actually catch much debris. Does anyone have experience with which brand offers the best fitment and coverage for the current model? I'm looking for something that's easy to bolt on without drilling. Which ones would you recommend for the best balance of protection and style?

Hi there, and congrats on the new ride! I totally get the frustration with road grime—it's annoying. For your situation, I recommend going aftermarket.
In my experience, the factory ones are too small for real protection. I've used WeatherTech MudFlaps 110141-120141 on my last two SUVs and they're great because they use a no-drill "QuickTurn" system. If you want even more coverage, the Husky Liners Custom Molded Mud Guards 58531 are seriously tough and usually cheaper than OEM. Hope this helps!
Hey! Congrats on the new Santa Fe. Honestly, if you're looking for the best bang for your buck, I’d skip the pricey dealer ones. I’ve been really satisfied with the A-Premium Splash Guards for Hyundai Santa Fe 2024-2025. They're way more affordable than WeatherTech, fit the factory bolt holes perfectly, and offer much better coverage than OEM. Tbh, they've kept my lower panels spotless without any drilling. Hope this helps save you some cash! 🚗
Tbh, I’m gonna go against the grain here. While those molded options like WeatherTech look okay, they're basically just rigid plastic that can trap salt and sand against your fender flares, which is a COMPLETE nightmare for your clear coat long-term. Plus, if you ever go over a tall speed bump or a curb in the winter, those stiff ones can just snap off. If you want real-world protection and a more technical setup, I’d check out these instead: * RokBlokz Mud Flaps for Hyundai Santa Fe – These are made from a high-density polymer that stays flexible even in freezing temps. They offer way more "poke" to catch the stones that the slim OEM-style ones miss.
* Rally Armor UR Series Mud Flaps – These are pretty much the gold standard for durability. They are super thick and won't warp over time like some of the cheaper aftermarket brands. Basically, the RokBlokz are great because they use the factory mounting points so they're still a no-drill install. Idk, I just think the molded ones look a bit too small for the actual tire width on the new Santa Fe models.
Building on the earlier suggestion, I've been really satisfied with moving away from the factory stuff for my own peace of mind. It keeps the panels way cleaner and just feels like a safer bet for the paint long term. I’m curious tho, are you mostly looking for something that blends in perfectly with the car's lines, or is maximum coverage your main goal even if it looks a bit more utilitarian? Also, do you deal with a lot of heavy snow and ice or is it mostly just rain and road grime? Knowing that would definitely help narrow down which brand's design would be more reliable for your specific area.
