Best sunshade to fit the windshield of an Infiniti QX80?

Hey everyone! I’m looking for a high-quality sunshade for my Infiniti QX80. That massive windshield lets in so much heat, and I’m worried about the dashboard cracking or the leather getting scorched during the summer. I’ve tried a couple of those cheap, universal 'one-size-fits-all' shades from local shops, but they are always too small and just collapse. I really want something sturdy that fits edge-to-edge and doesn't interfere with the rearview mirror sensor housing. Does anyone have experience with the official Infiniti accessory versus brands like WeatherTech or Covercraft? I'm looking for the best thermal protection possible. Which specific brand or model actually stays in place and fits the QX80’s dimensions perfectly?

Seconding the recommendation above for those custom brands! Honestly, after years of owning big SUVs, the best bang-for-your-buck move is HeatShield Custom Fit Sunshade for Infiniti QX80. It's sturdier than generic ones and costs less than the OEM version while staying perfectly flush against the glass.

Just sharing my experience: I’ve been happy with the WeatherTech Custom Fit SunShade for years. It stays firm adn covers teh sensors perfectly, keeping my dashboard cool without any sagging.

It is vital to prioritize thermal protection because prolonged UV exposure will eventually compromise the integrity of the interior materials. You should be especially careful with the area around the heads-up display if your model has one, as that plastic is prone to heat-soak. I would suggest performing a methodical check of the interior temperature after long sits in the sun. It reminds me of a trip I took to Moab last year where the outside temp hit 110 degrees. I forgot a pack of soda in the backseat and a can actually exploded. Cleaning sticky cola out of perforated leather seats is a total nightmare I wouldnt wish on my worst enemy. I spent the whole weekend with a toothbrush and leather cleaner instead of actually hitting the trails with the local club. Anyway lol, sorry kinda went off topic there.

I would suggest looking at the heavy-duty custom options because I've been through the same struggle with that massive windshield! Honestly, those cheap universal ones are a joke for a vehicle this size.

In my experience, here is how the top three stack up for the QX80:

1. **Covercraft Custom UVS100 Sunshade**: This is my top pick. It’s a rigid, folding accordion style. Because it's stiff, it doesn't sag in the middle, and it fits the sensor housing perfectly. It's bulky to store, but the thermal protection is legit.
2. **WeatherTech Custom Fit SunShade**: This one is a rollout style. It’s great because it’s silver on one side for summer and black on the other for winter. However, be careful—over time, the edges can sometimes curl a bit if you aren't gentle with it.
3. **Infiniti Genuine OEM QX80 Sunshade**: This is basically a rebranded high-end shade. It fits perfectly, but you usually pay a premium just for the logo.

I’d go with the Covercraft Custom UVS100 Sunshade if you want the best heat blocking. It actually stays in place without falling down every five minutes! Hope this helps!
