Hey everyone! I recently picked up an Infiniti QX60 Luxe and we’re planning several family road trips this year. I’m looking to add some extra storage space, but I’m struggling to decide between the official Infiniti crossbars and aftermarket options like Thule or Yakima. Since the Luxe has those flush side rails, I’m worried about finding a setup that’s easy to install and doesn't create too much wind noise on the highway. I also need a cargo box that won’t interfere with the rear hatch when it’s fully open. Does anyone have a specific rack and box combo they love that matches the QX60's sleek look? What are you all using for your gear?

Coming back to this because I've spent way too much time obsessing over roof setups for the Luxe! Honestly, if you're worried about that annoying highway whistle, you should probably skip the factory bars... they're basically just rebadged basics. Here's a technical setup that looks sleek and actually works: - Yakima JetStream Crossbars 50 inch paired with the Yakima SightLine Towers for Flush Rails. These have a wind-tunnel-tested shape that's highkey silent compared to others.
- For the box, check out the Yakima SkyBox 16 Carbonite Cargo Roof Box. It's got an adjustable mounting system so you can slide it way forward to clear the hatch completely!! Installation on those flush rails is actually pretty easy once you get the hang of the torque tool. Plus, the black finish on the JetStreams matches the QX60 trim perfectly imo. So yeah, hope that helps! Good luck with the trips!!

For your situation, I would suggest looking at aftermarket stuff if you're worried about noise. Honestly, I’m kinda new to this too, but I’ve found that the official ones can sometimes whistle at high speeds which is super annoying on long trips, right? * Infiniti QX60 OEM Roof Rack Cross Bars T99R1-9KS0A: This is a decent option for around $400. They look clean cuz they're made for the car, but they aren't as quiet as the high-end stuff, you know?
* Thule WingBar Evo 135 Crossbars + Thule Flush Rail Edge: These are basically silent but cost way more, like $700 total. I think they're worth it if ur doing a lot of highway driving. For the box, the Thule Motion XT XL Cargo Carrier 18 cu ft is sooo good. It has a notched base so you can slide it forward to clear the hatch, plus it looks really sleek on the Luxe. I was basically obsessed with the hatch clearance thing, and this setup works perfectly without scratching anything. Anyway, it depends on ur budget, but maybe the Thule is a better long-term investment. gl!

Curious about one thing: what's the total weight of the gear you're hauling? Honestly, I've seen too many setups fail cuz they ignored the Dynamic Load Rating on the Luxe. Quick safety tips:
* Use Inno Wedge Plus 864 for a sleek look without hatch interference.
* Stick with Yakima JetStream Black Crossbars for professional-grade stability. Been using this setup for years—works well and zero complaints. Safety first!!

Actually, just go with Yakima! They're way cheaper than OEM and literally PERFECT for the Luxe. Super quiet on the highway, definitely the best value.
