Hi everyone! I just upgraded to a new Infiniti QX60 Sport and I'm planning a few camping trips this summer. I really want to make use of the roof space but I am a bit overwhelmed by the options out there. Since the Sport trim has those nice black accents, I want accessories that match that aesthetic without being too noisy on the highway.

I am specifically looking for:

  • A low-profile cargo box that fits the factory crossbars
  • A reliable bike rack that is easy to mount
  • Tips on any specific brands that work best with the QX60's panoramic moonroof clearance

Does anyone have specific recommendations for gear that fits the Sport model perfectly?

Agreed! Check the Yakima SkyBox Lo Carbonite Cargo Box tho. Its got adjustable mounting tracks for better moonroof clearance. Pair it with a Yakima HighRoad Wheel-On Mount Bike Rack, looks better tbh.

Congrats on the Sport trim, that blacked out look is definitely the way to go. Since youre worried about the moonroof clearance and noise, you really need to look at the stack height of the mounting hardware. From a technical standpoint, the factory bars on the QX60 sit pretty close to the glass, so you want something with a low profile claw system that doesnt dip too far below the bar. For the box, Id highly recommend the Inno Shadow 16 Cargo Box Matte Black 13 cu ft. Its specifically engineered to be aerodynamic with a cut through shape that reduces drag and wind noise significantly compared to bulkier options. Its only about 11 inches tall, so it keeps the center of gravity low and looks sleek. Plus, the Inno Memory Mount system is great because once you set it for your factory bars, you just flip a lever to lock it down next time. Its very efficient. On the bike side, check out the RockyMounts BrassKnuckles Roof Bike Rack Black. Its incredibly sturdy and, when the arm is folded down, it has a very low profile to minimize whistling at highway speeds. It uses non-corrosive mounting hardware that fits those thick factory Infiniti bars perfectly without needing extra adapters. One pro tip: always measure the distance between your crossbars before buying. The QX60 usually has a fixed or semi fixed position, so make sure the accessory tracks have enough adjustment range. Also, watch that rear hatch clearance. Slide the box as far forward as possible to avoid hitting the spoiler when the liftgate is up. Most of these boxes allow for a few inches of sliding adjustment to accommodate for that.

Just saw your post and ngl, you gotta watch the weight limits on those factory bars for safety. I really like the RockyMounts BrassKnuckles Roof Bike Rack Black because it grips the tire securely and wont rattle. If you want a premium look that matches the Sport trim, the Thule Vector M Black Metallic Cargo Box is top-tier. Its aerodynamic shape is amazing for reducing wind noise during long drives.

Grab the Thule Motion XT Alpine Low Profile Cargo Box for that moonroof clearance. It looks killer on the Sport and wont whistle much. Pair with Thule UpRide Roof Mount Bike Rack.

Omg I am literally dealing with the exact same headache right now!! I just picked up my QX60 Sport last month and I love it so much, but honestly, the roof rack situation is terrifying me. Ngl, I am so paranoid about that panoramic glass shattering if I pick the wrong mount... its a total nightmare thinking about it. You really have to be careful with those budget brands you see online because they say they fit everything but the clearance is totally sketchy on these Infinitis. I have seen way too many horror stories about universal clamps digging into the trim or vibrating so hard they loosen up halfway through a road trip! Its amazing how much stress a simple camping trip can cause haha. Just be super careful about the weight distribution because those factory bars can be a bit flexy under a full load. Definitely avoid the cheap knockoffs, its not worth the risk to your beautiful new ride! Im still undecided myself but yeah, safety first for sure.
