I just picked up my new Range Rover Velar and I'm absolutely in love with the sleek interior design. However, I’m a bit worried about the piano black trim and those massive dual touchscreens becoming a magnet for fingerprints and scratches. Since I often have the kids and a dog in the car, I'm also looking for high-quality floor liners and a durable trunk protector that won't ruin the premium aesthetic. I’ve looked at some OEM options, but they’re quite pricey. Does anyone have experience with specific screen protectors or all-weather mats that fit perfectly? What are the absolute must-have interior protection accessories you’d recommend for keeping a Velar in showroom condition?

Just sharing my experience: I went through this exact same headache when I first got into JLR vehicles years ago. Honestly, piano black is a nightmare for anyone with kids or pets... it scratches if you even breathe on it!!

In my experience, the only way to TRULY save the trim is pre-cut PPF. I installed the Xpel Ultimate Plus Interior PPF Kit on my center console and it’s been a lifesaver. For the screens, I found that the Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit Screen Protector for Range Rover Velar is way better than the generic films because of the alignment tool. Also, for the floor, I skipped the pricey OEM ones and went with TuxMat Floor Mats for Range Rover Velar. They cover way more carpet area than WeatherTech, which is huge when you have a dog shedding everywhere lol. Basically, protect it now or you'll regret it later... gl!

Stumbled upon this discussion today and wanted to chime in since I've tried many different setups over the years. Honestly, the OEM stuff is crazy overpriced. In my experience, if you want that premium look without the Land Rover tax, you gotta check out TuxMat Range Rover Velar Custom Fit Floor Mats. They cover way more of the carpet than the standard rubber ones and look much more high-end, which is key for a Velar.

For the dog situation, I reallyyy recommend the Canvasback Cargo Liner for Land Rover Velar. It’s basically bulletproof and sticks to the carpet via velcro, covering the seat backs too. Ngl, it's a lifesaver with fur.

If ur looking for a budget screen fix, skip the high-end stuff mentioned earlier and grab the LFOTPP Dual Touchscreen Tempered Glass for Velar off Amazon. It's technically the same 9H hardness as the pricey ones but half the cost. Just make sure ur interior is totally dust-free before applying or youll get bubbles!! Good luck, hope this helps save some cash. Cheers!

yo, congrats! the Velar is stunning but honestly, piano black is the devils work with kids and a dog. it scratches if you even look at it wierd! i learned the hard way that you gotta protect it day one. in my experience, getting tempered glass for the screens is basically a lifesaver for fingerprints. i also got some custom-fit 3D mats for mine that dont ruin the premium look like the bulky ones do. good luck!!

^ This. Also, I have been reading through the suggestions and honestly, some of these options are not as good as expected for long-term use. Unfortunately, I had issues with the fitment on some of those premium-looking mats after a single winter... they started curling at the edges, which is a real safety concern if they ever get near the pedals. Basically, the thread boils down to:

  • Protecting that piano black before it gets scratched to bits.
  • Getting some kind of glass over the screens for the smudges.
  • Swapping out the pricey OEM mats for something with better coverage. If you want stuff that actually stays put and protects the interior for the long haul, I would look at these:
  • Just get any of the heavy-duty liners from Husky Liners. They are way more reliable than the fancy ones people usually recommend, even if they look a bit more industrial.
  • For seat protection against the dog, go with Coverking. You cant go wrong with their custom-fit materials for keeping claws from ruining the leather.
  • For the trim, just grab any DIY film from VViViD. It is much more forgiving to install than the high-end stuff if you are doing it yourself.
