What accessories are actually essential for the Range Rover Sport PHEV? I've been driving Rovers for fifteen years so I'm used to the standard kit, but this is my first time going electric and I'm honestly a bit lost on the hybrid-specific gear.
Just took delivery of a P440e and I'm super hyped, but the charging cable is already sliding all over the trunk and it's driving me crazy. I'm in the UK and have about £800 to spend on gear before a big family trip next month. Are there better cable bags or maybe specific trunk liners that fit the battery hump better?
Jumping in to agree, the cable movement is definitely an issue. Since you have a trip coming up, these alternatives manage the trunk space quite effectively:
Congrats on the new P440e! I honestly love mine so much, it is such a fantastic drive! I had the exact same nightmare with the charging cable sliding around like a loose bowling ball in the back. It was driving me mental until I found a cheap fix that saved me a fortune compared to the dealer prices. I ended up getting the Land Rover Genuine Loadspace Rubber Mat Part VPLWS0541 which is amazing because it is specifically molded for that hybrid battery hump so everything stays put. For the cable, dont bother with the expensive leather bags. I use a Tuff-Luv EV Cable Bag Round Large and it is basically perfect for keeping things tidy. I managed to snag both for under £180 by checking some UK parts sites instead of going direct to the showroom. You will have loads of your £800 left over for the holiday!
Just saw this thread while looking for some fixes myself. Unfortunately, I have had issues with the official Land Rover bags... they are honestly not as good as expected and the stitching tends to fray. Are you planning on staying at places with dedicated chargers or are you gonna be relying on domestic sockets mostly? That makes a massive difference for what cable safety gear you actually need. Since you want reliability, I would definitely suggest looking at the Juice Booster 2 Basic Set instead of cheap extensions. It is expensive but essentially bulletproof for family trips where you cant risk a charger failing. For the trunk, I actually prefer the Rigum Tailored Rubber Boot Liner over the WeatherTech stuff. The Rigum is much heavier and less plasticky, so it grips the battery hump way better. Also, for the cable mess, the Metron EV Cable Case Rigid is a solid alternative to the flimsy round bags... it actually stays put because of the velcro base.
@Reply #2 - good point! Tbh managing that trunk space is an absolute game changer for long trips! I really love these options for keeping it tidy:
Congrats on the P440e! Honestly I have been so satisfied with how mine runs, it is such a reliable beast. For the cable situation and the trunk stuff:
