I recently picked up a 2024 Lexus RX, and while I love the new interface, I’m honestly surprised it still requires a cable for CarPlay in certain trims. I’m tired of the cable clutter in such a clean interior! I’ve been looking into wireless adapters like the Carlinkit or Ottocast, but I’ve heard some can have significant audio lag or struggle with the larger Lexus infotainment screens. Has anyone found a specific brand that pairs quickly and doesn't crash during long drives? I'm looking for something reliable that fits tucked away in the center console. Which wireless adapter are you guys using that actually plays nice with the new Lexus software?

100% agree
Honestly, I felt the same when I got my RX. For your situation, I've tried many over the years and keep coming back to the Carlinkit 5.0 Wireless CarPlay Adapter (CPC200-2air). In my experience, it's the most stable for the price—around $60-80 usually. It's basically plug-and-play. I tucked mine right in the cubby. Lag is barely noticeable tbh, maybe like half a second? Definitely worth it to lose the cables ngl!! gl!

Respectfully, I'd consider another option before you pull the trigger on those. I've been driving Lexus for over a decade now, and while those adapters are super popular, I've had a different experience when it comes to long-term reliability and, more importantly, safety.
I mean, I totally get wanting to ditch the cable—the RX interior is literally too nice for clutter—but after messing with various dongles for years, I actually stopped using the cheap mass-market ones. I found that on long road trips, especially in the summer heat, those little plastic boxes tend to overheat and glitch out right when you're relying on GPS in heavy traffic. Talk about stressful!!
Honestly, I'd suggest going with any of the newer Ottocast units instead. I've found that brand generally handles the high-resolution Lexus screens way better without the weird stretching or lag issues. Plus, they seem to have a more stable thermal design. In my experience, it connects pretty much by the time I've backed out of my driveway and I've never had it crash during a 4+ hour drive.
Basically, if you value a *consistent* connection that wont leave you hanging when ur trying to navigate a new city, just stick with that brand. It's worked well for me and I'm super satisfied with the lack of lag. Just my two cents tho! gl!
I've tried a few of these and honestly, Carlinkit can be a bit hit or miss with heat during summer drives in my experience. If you want something that feels a bit more robust for the RX interior, I'd look at these two instead:
