I just picked up my new Lexus RZ and I’m absolutely loving the quiet ride, but I’m already worried about the interior. With winter approaching and the kids tracking in mud, the factory carpet mats aren't going to cut it. I’ve looked at the official Lexus ones, but they seem a bit pricey—are they worth it for the fit, or should I go with something like WeatherTech or TuxMat? I’m specifically looking for high edges to catch spills and something that won't slide around on the driver's side. Does anyone have experience with which brand fits the RZ’s floor dimensions most precisely? I’d love to hear what you guys are using to keep your cabin looking pristine!

Ok so I totally feel u on this! I basically had the same worry when I got my RZ. I actually ended up getting a set with those super high walls because the slush here is literally insane. Honestly, the fit on my current setup is basically perfect—it hasn't budged an inch on the driver's side!!

* Total floor coverage
* Super easy to spray down
* Zero sliding issues

It was way more cost-effective than the dealer ones too. So yeah, definitely go for the high-edge brands! good luck

For your situation, basically focus on the lip height and material density. I learned the hard way that the "high wall" marketing is often a bit of a letdown... Unfortunately, my first set had issues with the edges curling after just one winter. tbh, you gotta check the TPE thickness cuz the thinner ones just wont stay flush with the RZ's unique dead pedal area. Ngl, my current setup was way cheaper than the Lexus ones and the fit is actually better!

Re: "Interested in this too" - honestly I've tried a lot of these over the years and the RZ floor is a bit tricky. Before I say go for one brand or the other, I gotta ask... are you dealing with heavy road salt and deep slush, or is it mostly just mud and rain? That really changes which material you actually need. In my experience, people focus way too much on the wall height and not enough on the safety of the fitment.

  • Always make sure the mats support the factory Lexus twist-lock anchors. If it doesnt lock down, it is a massive safety risk near the pedals.
  • Check the texture. Some TPE mats get incredibly slippery when they are wet, which isnt great when you're getting in and out. I usually prefer the 3D MAXpider KAGU Series All-Weather Mats because they look more premium and fit the Lexus vibe better than the WeatherTech FloorLiner, but the WeatherTechs are definitely tougher if you're literally dumping gallons of slush in the car. Lmk what your weather is like and I can give a better recommendation.

In my experience, you gotta look at the technical specs of the floor layout before buying. The RZ has a pretty unique floor pan cuz of the EV architecture, especially that flat rear floor, so precision is EVERYTHING. If you want those high walls to catch the mud and slush, skip the OEM mats; they look clean but the edges are way too low for actual winter mess.

Here's what I recommend:

* TuxMat All-Weather Floor Mats for Lexus RZ - These are seriously the GOAT for coverage. They use a laser-scanning tech that covers almost every inch of exposed carpet, and the material is more of a premium textured finish than rugged rubber.
* WeatherTech FloorLiner HP for Lexus RZ - If you want something more industrial, the HP line is great because it's a softer TPE material that wont slide around or curl like their older plastic versions.

I mean, honestly, for a quiet EV cabin, TuxMat is the way to go because the material actually helps a bit with sound dampening too. Just make sure you use the retention clips on the driver's side for safety. Good luck with the new ride tho!!
