For Lexus LS 500 I would take Nextbase 622GW Dash Cam without hesitation. The design is beautiful The premium build provides excellent durability and protection.

Long-term experience: Using Nextbase 622GW Dash Cam for a few months and am thrilled. Have researched for a long time and this product was the best choice. The quality clearly exceeds my expectations. Very good price-performance ratio, can only recommend further.

For Lexus LS 500 I would definitely pay attention to the compatibility, especially if it's about electronics.

Tbh that point about electrical compatibility is the most important thing to consider for the LS 500. Honestly, you cant go wrong with Thinkware if you want the best integration with the car's power management system. Their parking mode tech is basically the industry standard for preventing parasitic draw. Most of the community experts agree that you should look for a brand that uses supercapacitors rather than internal batteries for better thermal stability in the cabin!!! Just get any high-end Thinkware unit and you'll be fine. Make sure to look into their hardwiring kits to take full advantage of the buffered parking recording features tho.

Like someone mentioned, you really gotta be careful with the wiring on these. Honestly, I am kinda disappointed with the big name brands everyone is suggesting. I had issues with a really expensive setup recently and the app experience was just a total mess, basically unusable when I actually needed to pull some footage. IIRC, a guy at the dealership told me that the LS power management is way more finicky than the older models. Here is what I think based on my own frustrating experience:

  • Spending more money doesnt always get you a better user experience, often its just more features that break.
  • Hardwiring is a massive headache and might not even be worth the risk of battery drain.
  • Not sure but I think some of the mid-range stuff actually has better night vision these days anyway. Its just my two cents, but I would really suggest looking for something simpler that doesnt require tearing the dash apart. Happy to help if you want to chat more about the install side of things tho!

> Looking for the optimal dash cam for Lexus LS 500. Do you have experience or recommendations? ^ This. Also, you gotta be careful with the LS 500 electrical system... I remember years ago I messed up a mirror tap on my old GS and it was a total nightmare to fix. For a car this nice, I would suggest the FitcamX Dash Cam for Lexus LS 500. It basically replaces the plastic shell behind the mirror. The big pro is it looks totally OEM, like it came from the factory. The con is the app is kinda clunky compared to the bigger brands. If you want more tech, you might want to consider the Thinkware U3000 Dual Channel. I like it tho because the radar parking mode is way more efficient on the battery than most. Just make sure to use a high-end SD card. Ive seen too many people buy a 500 dollar camera then put a cheap card in it that dies in a month... honestly such a rookie mistake. Stick with something like the SanDisk Max Endurance 256GB microSDXC if you want it to actually last. Be careful when tucking wires near the A-pillar airbags too, dont want to mess those up.
