Honestly i've been lurking on a few other Lexus boards and the general consensus for the IS 500 is way different than the touring tires mentioned so far... given that we're dealing with a V8 RWD beast i'd be SUPER careful about putting "comfort" tires on this thing because you really need the grip for safety reasons alone. i switched over to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S after about 5k miles because the stock ones just felt floaty and i didnt feel 100% confident in the corners and honestly i was worried about losing the back end. if you live somewhere with rain or light snow most of the guys in the community swear by the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus since they're way more reliable in the wet and honestly the tread life is GREAT for a daily. I'm always a bit cautious with tires because they're literally the only thing keeping that 472 hp on the road so i wouldnt cheap out or go too soft maybe? its just better to have that extra bite when you need it especially if you actually enjoy the power of the 500. TL;DR: Skip the touring tires and go for Michelin Pilot Sport 4S if you want the best performance or Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus for reliable all-season safety.
