Technical highlights: The latest generation offers significantly better quality. Very good compatibility with Lexus RC 350 features. Can be used without problems for various purposes. Even after extended use, no quality losses. Very good build quality, even at high usage.

For Lexus RC 350 I would also check the warranty. Do you need extended coverage?

Interesting question! For Lexus RC 350 it also depends on your driving style. What's your main concern?

Honestly, been seeing a lot of dash cam talk here but for an actual backup camera, you gotta be careful with the RC 350 display integration. In my experience, going the cheap route often leads to flickering or bad resolution. I've tried many setups over the years and compatibility is usually the biggest headache. If you want something solid that wont break the bank, the Beat-Sonic NDS6223 EP Interface is a lifesaver for Lexus systems. It lets you add a camera without messing up the factory harness. Then just grab a Natika Backup Camera IP69K Waterproof to pair with it. Much cheaper than going full OEM from the dealer and the quality is basically the same. Just make sure the wiring is tucked tight under the trunk liner... learned that the hard way lol. Let me know if you need help with the install steps!

For Lexus RC 350 I would also consider the brand. Do you need OEM or aftermarket?

I am still kinda new to working on my own car, but I have been thinking about your question since this morning. You definitely want to be careful because the RC 350 has some specific quirks when it comes to the trunk layout. Here are a few things I would suggest you keep an eye on:

  • Make sure to look for a camera that uses a high-quality sensor because the resolution on the factory screen can look really grainy if the camera is low-end.
  • You might want to consider a plug-and-play harness instead of cutting any wires. Splicing into the factory loom can be a nightmare and might cause issues with your electronics later on.
  • Be careful about the weather sealing. A lot of these units say they are waterproof but they fail after a few months of rain or car washes.
  • I would suggest checking the night vision specs too. Some look great during the day but basically become useless once the sun goes down. Its a fun project and totally worth it for the peace of mind. Just take your time and dont force anything during the install! If you get stuck with the wiring just shout.
