Best custom sunshades for protecting a Lincoln Town Car dashboard?

I’m really trying to save my Town Car’s leather dashboard from the brutal summer sun before it starts cracking. Since these windshields are so massive, generic shades never seem to fit right. Has anyone tried WeatherTech or Covercraft? I want something that stays put and offers total coverage. What’s the best custom-fit sunshade you’ve found for a Lincoln?

In my experience, you really can't go wrong with either of those brands, but I’ve been using Covercraft Custom UVS100 Sunscreen for years on my Lincolns and it's basically the gold standard.

Here's why I recommend it:
- It's a solid, folding board rather than that floppy roll-up stuff. It literally fits the Town Car windshield like a glove with zero gaps.
- The insulation is heavy-duty. Honestly, it keeps the cabin way cooler than the cheapo ones you find at big-box stores.
- It doesn't sag over time, which is a huge deal for those massive dashboards.

I’ve also tried the WeatherTech Custom Fit SunShade which is decent too, but it's a roll-up style. It’s easier to store, but I find the Covercraft looks way more premium. Since you're trying to save that leather, definitely go with the UVS100... it's worth every penny tbh. Good luck!

Sooo I actually stumbled upon this discussion while looking for ways to save my own interior, and I totally feel u on the Lincoln windshield struggle. Those things are basically giant magnifying glasses for the sun lol. While the high-end stuff like the Covercraft is definitely nice, I’m always kinda cautious about spending $100+ on a sunshade if I dont have to, especially if ur on a budget like I usually am.

Honestly, I was pretty worried about the dash cracking too, so I did some digging for a cheaper but still custom-fit option. I ended up going with the AutoTech Zone Sunshade Custom-fit for 2003-2011 Lincoln Town Car. It’s way more affordable than the big name brands but honestly, the fit is actually pretty decent for the price. It’s a bit more flexible/floppy than a solid board, so you gotta be a little careful when you're unfolding it so you dont hit your mirror, but it definitely gets the job done and covers almost every inch of that massive glass.

Another solid budget-friendly move I'd suggest is the EcoNour Car Windshield Sun Shade 2-Piece Classic Universal Fit. Even though it says universal, if you get the right size (I think it’s the Large or X-Large for the Town Car), the two-piece design lets you overlap them in the middle to get that total coverage you're looking for. Just make sure to measure ur glass first cuz these cars are literally huge! It might not look as "pro" as a custom-molded one, but for saving cash it’s a win. Anyway, hope that helps protect ur leather... good luck! 👍

Seconding the recommendation above for those solid boards. Honestly, I think WeatherTech is another safe bet for the Town Car. My biggest concern is always safety tho—I’ve seen cheap ones literally melt or off-gas nasty chemicals onto the glass. Be careful with generic stuff cuz it might slip and scratch the dash. IIRC, the custom ones stay put way better and actually protect the vinyl from cracking. gl!!
