Hey everyone, my 2017 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid has been acting up lately with some weird electronic glitches, and I’m pretty sure the 12V battery is finally on its way out. Since it’s tucked away in the trunk, I want to make sure I get something that fits perfectly without a hassle. I’m debating between just sticking with the standard Motorcraft replacement or upgrading to a high-quality AGM battery like an Interstate or Odyssey for better longevity. Has anyone here made the switch to an AGM, and did you notice any difference in how the car handles the hybrid system? What’s the most reliable brand you’d recommend for this specific model?

Seconding the recommendation above! Honestly, going AGM is a fantastic move for hybrids because they handle the deep cycles so much better. While the Walmart option is great, I've had amazing results with the DieHard Platinum AGM Battery Group Size H4. It's super reliable and usually cheaper than an Odyssey! Just a quick tip: whatever you pick, make sure you perform a battery monitor system (BMS) reset so the car knows it has a fresh unit. It's really easy to do!

Hi there, I totally get that frustration! Those weird glitches are a classic sign the 12V is dying. In my experience with these cars, sticking to the Motorcraft BXT-99RT4-A 12V Battery is the safest bet. I've found it's super reliable and fits perfectly in that tight trunk spot without any hassle.
- AGM is cool, but make sure to check if your car's charging profile supports it.

For your situation, I would suggest looking at EverStart Platinum AGM Battery Group Size H4 from Walmart. It's usually around $170, which is much cheaper than an Odyssey, and fits the MKZ Hybrid perfectly.
