High-performance brake pads for a Lincoln MKS?

I’ve been driving my Lincoln MKS for a while now, and while I love the smooth ride, I’m starting to feel like the stock brakes just aren't cutting it for my daily commute. I'm looking for something with a bit more bite and better heat dissipation, especially since I do a fair amount of spirited highway driving. I’m tired of the excessive brake dust on my wheels and that slight fade I get during heavy traffic. Has anyone upgraded to ceramic or high-performance semi-metallic pads on their MKS? I'm hoping to stay under $200 for the set. What brands or specific models would you recommend for a better pedal feel without sacrificing the quietness Lincoln is known for?

For your situation, I think you've gotta be careful about balancing that extra bite with the quietness you expect from a Lincoln. In my experience, it usually comes down to Ceramic vs. Performance Ceramic.

Option A: Akebono Ultra-Premium Ceramic Brake Pads. These are incredibly quiet and virtually dust-free. But, they might feel a bit too "soft" for spirited driving.
Option B: PowerStop Z23 Evolution Sport Carbon-Fiber Ceramic Brake Pads. These are my top pick. They offer better heat dissipation thanks to the carbon-fiber infusion, staying well under your $200 budget.

Honestly, I’d suggest the PowerStop Z23s for a daily commute with some "edge." Just a quick tip: please have a professional inspect your rotors too. Putting high-performance pads on worn rotors can lead to safety issues! Hope this helps!

Similar situation here! I felt safer switching to Hawk HPS 5.0 High Performance Street Brake Pads.

1. Great bite under $200.
2. Super quiet.

Honestly, they're perfect for a daily MKS commute.

Quick question - is your MKS the EcoBoost or the base V6? I'm still learning this stuff, but fitment actually matters for the heat dissipation you want! I’d suggest looking at:

1. EBC Brakes Redstuff 3000 Series Ceramic Pads - great for low dust.
2. StopTech Street Performance Brake Pads - much better bite than OEM.

Be careful with the install, but let me know your engine type first!
