Hey everyone! I just recently took delivery of a beautiful new Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring, and I’m absolutely loving the whisper-quiet electric mode for my daily commute. However, as a first-time PHEV owner, I’m quickly realizing that my garage setup is a bit lacking. Currently, I’m just using the standard Level 1 mobile cord that came with the car, but it takes quite a while to get back to a full charge overnight.

I’m looking to upgrade my charging game and wondering what accessories you all consider essential. Are most of you installing a dedicated Level 2 home station, or is that overkill for a 14.4 kWh battery? I’ve been looking at the ChargePoint Home Flex, but I’m curious if there are more budget-friendly options that still work seamlessly with the Lincoln Way app notifications.

Beyond the home setup, what do you carry in the trunk? I’m thinking about picking up a J1772 extension cable for those awkward public spots or maybe a high-quality cable organizer to keep the cargo area tidy. Also, has anyone found a specific weather-resistant cover for the charging port that actually fits the Corsair well during rainy or snowy days?

What are the absolute must-have charging accessories you’d recommend to a new owner to make the plug-in life easier? Looking forward to your suggestions!

Can u clarify if u already have a NEMA 14-50 outlet or if ur hiring an electrician? Honestly, L2 isnt overkill bc it lets u precondition the cabin in winter without hitting the range. In my experience, the Grizzl-E Classic Level 2 EV Charger is a solid, budget-friendly beast compared to the ChargePoint. Also, check out a magnetic Eco-Fused EV Charging Port Cover for the snow!! It's a lifesaver. Lmk!

I'd actually suggest a different approach. Skip the smart chargers; honestly theyre overkill. A Megear Level 2 EV Charger 16 Amp is way cheaper, and Lincoln Way still handles notifications perfectly. gl!

sooo congrats on the corsair! basically, L1 takes forever to fill that battery which kinda sucks if u wanna drive electric all day. getting a dedicated L2 station matters cuz it lets u top up between errands in just 2-3 hours. dont think it's overkill! i hope your happy with these: - Grizzl-E Classic Level 2 EV Charger (40 Amp, 24 Feet) (~$350)
- Lectron J1772 Extension Cable (40 Amp, 20 Feet) honestly, it works great! 👍
