I am so stressed out with this new car. Just got my Aviator GT and I am terrified of the kids or my muddy dog ruining the leather. I looked for floor mats and seat covers online but there are way too many options and I have no idea what actually fits the hybrid version.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I am totally lost and the dealer tried to charge me $2,000 for a protection package which feels like a scam. I only have about $500 to spend and we have a big road trip to the lake next week. What specific things do I actually need to buy so I dont ruin the interior?

I remember my first big trip to the lake with my Aviator... I spent half the time worrying about the sand and the other half cleaning up dog slobber from the doors. Like someone mentioned, the dealer prices are insane, so definitely handle this yourself. Over the years, I've tried many different setups, and the one thing people always overlook is the door panels. If your dog is anything like mine, they're gonna want to look out the window, and those claws will shred the leather trim in seconds. I swear by Meadowowl Dog Car Door Guard Interior Protector. They're cheap and just slide into the window channel. For the back, you need a dedicated cargo mat. I've used the Husky Liners Weatherbeater Cargo Liner for 2020-2024 Lincoln Aviator in my GT and it fits like a glove even with the hybrid setup. It's saved me from countless spilled coolers and wet towels. For the kids, honestly, just get some Enovoe Back Seat Protectors Kick Mats. Kids love to kick the back of the seats when they're bored, and those plastic mats are way easier to wipe down than the upholstery. For the inevitable sticky messes, keep a bottle of Chemical Guys Leather Cleaner and Conditioner Complete Leather Care Kit in the glove box. It's way cheaper than $2,000 and it actually works. You'll be fine for your trip, just take a deep breath and enjoy the drive!

^ This. Floor mats are step one but seriously, you gotta protect that leather from the dog and car seats too! Leather is way too expensive to fix later. These are total life savers for the GT:

In my experience, just grab WeatherTech FloorLiner HP Custom Fit Floor Mats. They fit the hybrid perfectly and save the carpet from muddy paws for way less than the dealer.
