Hello, I'm planning to use it with Mercedes-Benz CLS and need a dash cam recommendation. What would you take?
Picked up Nextbase 622GW Dash Cam for my Mercedes-Benz CLS. It's very reliable, works seamlessly with mercedes-benz cls. Works as expected.

For Mercedes-Benz CLS, it depends on your priorities - are you looking for performance or convenience?
Ended up getting Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2 for my Mercedes-Benz CLS. It works seamlessly, suits mercedes-benz cls well, and worth every penny.
Yeah I definitely agree with the focus on how these units integrate with the car. Basically, the community seems split between going for the best raw specs and getting that clean OEM look. I think someone told me that the newer CLS models have some really tight tolerances in the overhead console, so running wires can be a bit of a pain if youre not careful with the trim tools. Not 100 percent sure but IIRC there were some discussions about how certain dash cams can interfere with the Lane Keeping Assist or the rain sensor if they are mounted too close to the sensor housing behind the mirror. It might be worth checking some of the deeper DIY threads for specific mounting templates. Honestly, if youre going for a pro setup, you really gotta look into a proper hardwire kit with a voltage cutoff. These cars are super sensitive to parasitic draw and you dont wanna deal with a drained battery because the parking mode stayed on too long. A couple of things I usually look for in community reviews:
Any updates on this?
> Hello, I'm planning to use it with Mercedes-Benz CLS and need a dash cam recommendation. What would you take? Been thinking about your question for a few hours... honestly, i have been pretty disappointed with the high-end dash cam market lately. Most of these units feel like cheap plastic toys which kinda ruins the vibe of a nice Mercedes interior. Before i give you a final recommendation, are you looking for something with a screen or do you want it totally hidden behind the mirror? I personally had issues with the Thinkware U3000 4K Dash Cam recently. The radar parking mode sounds cool on paper but the image quality was not as good as expected for that huge price tag. Then there is the VIOFO A139 Pro 4K Dual Channel which has the best sensor for night driving, but the app is unfortunately super clunky to use. Its basically a trade-off between raw specs and actually being able to use the thing...
