Hey everyone! I recently picked up a Mercedes EQS and I’m absolutely loving it, but the summer heat is becoming a real issue. That massive panoramic windshield lets in so much sun that the cabin gets incredibly hot, and I’m worried about the UV rays damaging the dash. I've looked at a few generic options online, but they never seem to fit the unique dimensions of the EQS properly. Does anyone have experience with a specific brand that offers a perfect, snug fit for this model? I’m looking for something high-quality that’s also easy to fold and store when not in use. Does anyone have a specific sunshade they’d recommend that actually stays in place?

Hmm, I've had a different experience with the standard folding shades. Honestly, I'm kinda worried about the safety aspect of those thick, heavy shades near that massive sensor pod—if they aren't secured perfectly, they could literally put pressure on the housing or fall while you're driving if the sun visors aren't tight.

Instead of the bulky ones, I'd actually suggest a different approach using a high-tech ceramic tint or a flexible mesh. Basically, it stays in place better and protects the electronics more reliably. If you really want a physical shade, definitely check out the WeatherTech SunShade Full Vehicle Kit for Mercedes-Benz EQS or the Autoheatshield Custom Fit Sunshade for Mercedes EQS. They use a much thinner, tech-focused material that’s easier to tuck around the mirror without messing with the sensors. Plus, the silver side reflects like 95% of UV. It’s a bit of a tighter fit, but feels way safer for the dash tech imo! Good luck!!

Oh man, I feel u on the heat. That EQS windshield is basically a greenhouse!! Honestly, I tried a few generic ones and they were super disappointing because of that huge mirror housing. Unfortunately, most "custom" ones I bought didn't even cover the corners properly.

But yeah, I finally found a winner. For your situation, I highkey recommend the Covercraft Custom Sunshade UVS100 for Mercedes-Benz EQS. It's a rigid folding style, so it's not as floppy as those cheap wire ones.

Here's why I like it:
- It actually fits the massive panoramic gap perfectly.
- The triple-layer laminate literally blocks out way more heat than the thin fabrics.
- It doesn't sag even when it gets super hot.

Only downside is it's kinda bulky to store since it doesn't fold tiny, but the protection is worth it imo. Gl! 👍

Quick reply while I have a sec because I've dealt with this greenhouse effect for years across multiple EVs lol. Honestly, I had issues with those generic ones too—they literally never clear that massive sensor pod behind the mirror on the EQS. It’s super frustrating when you spend money and it just sags in the middle.

TL;DR: Check out HeatShield or WeatherTech for their custom-fit lines.

I’ve found that going with a brand that uses laser-measured templates is the only way to get a snug fit on these modern Mercedes windshields. Pro tip: you might find the "Reflectics" style ones from WeatherTech useful because they’re stiff enough to actually stay up without relying on the visors as much. Also, check out some of the specialized EV forums like MBWorld; there’s a great resource there where users track which brands accommodate the dash cam housing best. Good luck, hope u find one that works!! 👍
