I just took delivery of a 992 Turbo S and want to personalize it. I'm looking into:
I want a balance of aggressive looks and better sound without ruining the daily drivability. What are the best aesthetic and performance accessories you'd recommend?
Yo, congrats on the 992 Turbo S! That car is an absolute beast out of the box. I've spent way too much time and money tweaking mine, and honestly, you dont need to spend 30k to make it sound and look right. For the exhaust, everyone jumps to Akrapovic, but they are insanely expensive for what you get. If you want that high-pitched exotic howl without the drone for daily driving, I highly recommend looking at the Kline Innovation 992 Turbo S Inconel Exhaust System. It sounds incredible and saves a ton of weight compared to stock. If that's still too pricey, just look at getting some sport cats. The Soul Performance 992 Turbo S Sport Catalytic Converters are a game changer. Keeping the stock muffler but changing the cats gives you like 80% of the sound for a fraction of the cost. On the aero side, factory carbon is a total ripoff imo. I used the Moshammer 992 Turbo S Side Air Intake Grills and they look totally OEM but way more aggressive. For wheels, forged center-locks are always pricey, but BC Forged RZ21 Center Lock Forged Wheels are probably the best value out there. They're custom made and weigh way less than the stock wheels without the HRE price tag. Just dont go too crazy with lowering if you want to keep it as a daily. I'd stick to the TechArt 992 Turbo S Sport Spring Kit since it works with the PASM and wont ruin your back on long drives.
Look at the specs, BMC High Performance Air Filter 992 Turbo S increases airflow and sound for way less. Also, Vossen HF-5 Hybrid Forged Center-Lock Wheels look aggressive without the markup... definitely worth considering.
Interested in this too
I totally get where the previous guys are coming from with the Vossen and BMC stuff, but honestly, if you just dropped a quarter mil on a Turbo S, I wouldnt go with hybrid forged wheels. Theyre fine for looks, but for a car this capable, you really want the weight savings and strength of a true monoblock. Personally, I think the HRE P101SC Forged Monoblock Center Lock Wheels are the peak of performance and aesthetics. Theyre pricey, yeah, but the unsprung weight difference is something you actually feel in the steering response. For the carbon bits, some of the cheaper options out there have weird fitment or yellow over time. If you want that factory-plus look, TechArt Carbon Fiber Side Air Intakes 992 Turbo S are the way to go. The weave matches the Porsche OEM carbon perfectly which is a huge pet peeve of mine when it doesnt. Regarding the sound, instead of just sport cats, look at a full valved setup like the Capristo Valved Exhaust System Porsche 992 Turbo S Titanium. It lets you keep that daily drivability by using the factory valve controllers. It wont drone your ears off on the highway, but sounds like an absolute beast when you actually pin it. Just my experience from living with these mods... sometimes spending more upfront saves you the headache of swapping parts later when you realize the mid-tier stuff isnt quite right for this caliber of car.
