Hey everyone! I finally pulled the trigger and booked my first real track day with my 911 Turbo. I’ve done plenty of spirited canyon runs, but I know the track is a completely different animal, especially with the sheer power and weight of the Turbo compared to something like a GT3. I want to make sure I’m fully prepared so I don't spend the whole day stressing about the car.

I’m looking for recommendations on the best track day accessories specifically for this platform. I’ve already picked up a high-quality tire pressure gauge because I know heat management is going to be a full-time job with the AWD system. However, I’m curious about what else is essential. Do you guys recommend specific magnetic rock guards to protect those wide rear fenders from track debris? Also, is it worth upgrading the brake fluid to something like Motul 660 right away, or should the stock setup hold up for a beginner session?

I’m also debating getting a dedicated lap timer like a Garmin Catalyst or just sticking to a phone app for now. I want to keep things somewhat simple but don't want to regret missing a crucial piece of gear.

What are the absolute must-have accessories you’d suggest for a 911 Turbo owner hitting the track for the first time?

Yo! Heat management is key. In my experience, u basically gotta upgrade: * Fluid: Stock vs Motul RBF 660 Factory Line Racing Brake Fluid 500ml. Stock boils easy; Motul handles track heat. Winner: Motul.
* Data: Phone vs Garmin Catalyst Driving Performance Optimizer. Apps lag; Catalyst has real-time coaching. Winner: Catalyst. Definitely grab MagnaGrafik Magnetic Rock Guards for Porsche 911 to save ur paint. gl!

Sooo, jumping in here! I went through this last year and highkey wanted to save cash. Instead of those pricey magnetic guards, I just used 3M Precision Masking Tape on the rear fenders. Worked great and cost like $10! Also, I skipped the Garmin for Harry's LapTimer Petrolhead Edition on my phone. Saved me a ton of money while I was just starting out... TL;DR: Painter's tape and phone apps are the ultimate budget track hacks for beginners.
