So I just picked up my first new 5th gen 2500 for the landscaping business here in Montana and honestly the interior is way more premium than my old 2012. My logic was to get the higher trim for the resale value later but now Im legit terrified of getting mud on these seats. I usually just throw in generic mats but the seat sensors and all the new tech in the dash are making me nervous about what fits.

  • heavy duty liners
  • seat protection that doesnt block airbags
  • maybe some screen protection?

Need to get this sorted by Monday before the crew starts using it. What are the actual essentials that wont mess with the electronics or look cheap?

Unfortunately, the factory interior protection on these new 5th gens isnt as good as expected for real work trucks. I had issues with generic covers messing with the OCS sensors in the passenger seats, which is a total headache. You basically need laser-measured gear for that Montana mud or you are gonna ruin those premium materials fast.

You might want to consider Husky Liners WeatherBeater Black Front/Rear Floor Mats for a budget-friendly way to trap Montana slush. Be careful with fitment tho; make sure they dont block floor vents. Adding a Car Console Covers Neoprene Center Console Armrest Cover Black is also smart because that center leather wears out fast from grit. TL;DR: Husky liners and a neoprene console cover protect high-wear areas for minimal cost.

^ This. Also, unfortunately had issues with some of the pricier setups lately where the fitment just isnt as good as expected. I spent a lot on my last fleet and felt disappointed with the coverage gaps near the sensors.

  • Are you looking for a permanent install or just something to toss in for work days?
  • Whats your actual budget limit for the whole interior? Its frustrating when the expensive stuff doesnt live up to the hype.
