I’ve been taking my R1S out on some gravel trails lately, and I’m starting to get worried about rock chips along the lower rocker panels and rear quarter panels. The factory setup leaves those areas pretty exposed, especially when the air suspension is dialed up for off-roading. I’m looking for something durable that can handle a bit of abuse without snapping off if I scrape a rock or navigate deep ruts. I've seen a few options from Rally Armor and Twraps, but I’m curious about real-world clearance and how they hold up in thick mud. Does anyone have experience with a specific brand that offers great coverage without looking too bulky? Which mud flaps provide the best balance of protection and durability for serious off-road use?

Hi there! I totally get the anxiety about those rock chips! Honestly, I’m super cautious with my R1S too. For your situation, I would suggest looking at Twraps Mud Flaps for Rivian R1S. They're great because they don't require drilling, but I'm always a bit nervous about them catching on deep ruts.

Another solid choice is the EV Sportline TMaxx Rally Mud Flaps for Rivian R1S. They offer amazing coverage and are built to be flexible! Just be careful during heavy rock crawling, but they're fantastic for gravel. Hope this helps!

For your situation, I'd suggest looking into the WeatherTech MudFlaps for Rivian R1S. Honestly, I’ve had issues with more expensive sets being too rigid, which is a recipe for disaster on deep ruts. These are fairly cost-conscious and flexible enough to take a beating without snapping. Just a heads up though—properly torque the fasteners or they might rattle loose after a few gravel miles. Better safe than sorry, FWIW!

In my experience, I've found that Rally Armor Mud Flaps for Rivian R1S are the way to go for serious trails. I actually backed into a deep mud rut last month and thought for sure they'd snap, but the flexible polyurethane just bent and popped right back. They aren't as stiff as the TWraps Mud Flaps for Rivian R1S, which is actually better for clearance. Honestly, they've saved my rocker panels from some nasty gravel spray!

To add to the point above: you gotta check out the RokBlokz Mud Flaps for Rivian R1S if you want something that feels indestructible! Most people go for the floppy stuff, but these are a thicker, more rigid polymer that stays put even when you're hitting 75 on the freeway. They create a much better shield for the rear quarter panels because they dont bend back under wind pressure. Love the look on the R1S too, makes it look super aggressive!! Ngl, I actually got so obsessed with protecting my paint that I spent an entire weekend trying to install a XPEL Ultimate Plus Paint Protection Film kit myself. It was a total disaster at first... bubbles everywhere and I almost threw the heat gun across the driveway. My neighbor actually came over to help because he thought I was having a meltdown lol. We ended up just drinking beers and watching the game instead of finishing the rockers. But yeah, definitely go with the RokBlokz if you want that rugged build.
