Does anyone use a mattress for camping in the R1S?

I’m planning a solo weekend trip and really want to put the R1S’s Camp Mode to the test. While the second and third rows fold down pretty flat, I’ve noticed there’s a slight slope and some gaps that might be uncomfortable for a full night's sleep. I’m debating between a dedicated inflatable like the Exped Megamat T Duo or a custom-trimmed memory foam topper, but I’m worried about anything being too bulky to store in the frunk while driving. Does anyone have a specific mattress recommendation that fits the R1S dimensions perfectly without hitting the center console? I’d love to know what setup actually gives you a level sleeping surface!

Sooo I actually tried the whole custom memory foam route last summer and honestly? It was a total mess trying to roll it up. It took up basically the entire back of the R1S and definitely wasn't fitting in the frunk. I eventually gave up on that and switched over to a high-end inflatable pad. For your situation, I would suggest just going with an Exped mattress. You really can't go wrong with their stuff cuz they're basically the gold standard for EV camping. The R1S has that weird slope like you mentioned, but if you don't fully inflate it—like keep it at maybe 80%—it actually levels out the surface pretty well against the seats. Plus, it folds down tiny enough to shove into the frunk with room to spare for your charging cables. It's lowkey the best setup I've found so far. gl!

For your situation, the Exped MegaMat T Duo 10 is actually the gold standard. It fills those gaps perfectly and iirc, it basically levels out that R1S slope once it's fully inflated. Super comfy tbh!

For your situation, I would suggest looking at the LOSTHORIZON AirSoft Self-Inflating Sleeping Pad for R1S. It's basically a budget-friendly alternative to the MegaMat. Honestly, be careful with memory foam cuz it's a nightmare to compress. I've found that a self-inflating pad kinda levels out that slope better without breaking the bank. Just make sure to slide the front seats forward to clear the console tho!!
