So I finally got my R1S Quad-Motor after what felt like a lifetime of waiting and man, the performance is insane but I am low-key panicking about the interior. We have this huge family trip to the mountains in two weeks and I'm looking at this pristine cabin thinking its gonna be destroyed by the kids and all our gear in five minutes. I've been driving EVs for years so I thought I knew what to expect but the storage situation is way trickier than my old Model X was.

I need some serious advice on what interior accessories are actually worth it and fit perfectly. I am looking for heavy-duty floor mats that actually cover the edges—the factory ones seem a bit thin for snowy boots. Also, does anyone have a lead on a solid center console organizer or maybe something for the space under the main screen? Everything just slides around whenever I use the regenerative braking on the higher settings and its driving me crazy. My budget is probably around 900 bucks for everything. I'm especially worried about the back of the seats getting kicked and scuffed. What are you guys using to keep the R1S looking decent while actually using it as a rugged SUV? I don't want to buy cheap junk that doesnt fit the premium vibe...

Coming back to this after seeing your worry about things sliding. In my experience, fitment is everything for safety. Ive tried many setups and the 3D MAXpider Kagu All-Weather Floor Mats for Rivian R1S are the most reliable because they dont budge. For the seat backs, the Canvasback Rivian R1S Cargo Liner and Seat Back Covers is mandatory. It stops gear from scuffing everything up.

I just went through this exact process and honestly, I am super happy with how it turned out. I was really worried about the safety aspect of stuff sliding around under the pedals, especially since the R1S has such strong regen braking. I spent a lot of time researching and found that you dont have to spend a fortune to get a premium feel if you buy the right brands.

  • For the floors, I went with TuxMat Rivian R1S All-Weather Floor Mats. They offer way more vertical coverage than the others and honestly look more like a custom floor than a rubber mat. I am very satisfied with how they handle snow and mud.
  • To solve the sliding issue under the screen, the Team 1EV Rivian R1T R1S Under Screen Storage Tray works well. It fits the dash curve perfectly and keeps my phone and sunglasses from flying off during hard turns or stops. No complaints about the build quality at all.
  • Inside the console, the Abstract Ocean Rivian R1S/R1T Center Console Drawer is a lifesaver. It slides smoothly and makes that deep pit actually usable for small gear. It feels very sturdy and doesnt rattle, which was my main concern.
  • For the seat backs, EVBASE Rivian R1S Kick Mats Back Seat Protectors are a solid budget choice. They match the vegan leather pretty closely so they dont look like cheap additions, and theyve saved my seats from my kids muddy boots plenty of times already. You can probably get all this for under 600 bucks if you catch a sale. I found that sticking to these specific brands kept the cabin looking high-end while giving me the reliability I needed for mountain trips...

Ngl I had that same panic before our first mountain trip. I ended up getting LinerX All-Weather Floor Mats for Rivian R1S since they have high edges for snow and mud. They fit way better than the OEM ones tbh. For the sliding stuff, the BestEvMod Center Console Storage Organizer for Rivian R1T R1S is basic but it works and keeps my keys from flying around when using heavy regen.

To add to the point above: I would suggest being cautious with generic silicone organizers. They often warp in the heat and can look kinda cheap. Make sure to verify that any floor protection has a non-slip backing; if mats slide during heavy regenerative braking, it is a major safety risk. I would prioritize quality over buying a bunch of small accessories that just clutter the cabin... stay safe out there.
