What are the must-have accessories for new Rivian owners?

I just took delivery of my R1T last week, and while the truck is absolutely incredible right out of the gate, I’m starting to realize there are a few gaps I need to fill to keep it organized and protected. I’ve already noticed how quickly the center console becomes a black hole for loose change and charging cables, and I’m a bit worried about scuffing up the door sills during weekend camping trips.

I’ve spent a few hours browsing through various shops, but I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by the options. Between all-weather floor mats, screen protectors, and gear tunnel accessories, I’m not sure what is actually essential and what is just fluff. My budget for initial upgrades is around $600, so I want to prioritize things that offer the most utility or protection for a daily driver that occasionally goes off-road. I’m especially curious about organizers for the storage bins and any specific recommendations for a high-quality glass screen protector.

For those of you who have had your Rivian for a while, what are the absolute must-have accessories you’d recommend buying in the first month of ownership?

yo, welcome to the R1T club!! honestly, i get the frustration because while the tech is cool, some of the ergonomics are... questionable. i spent a ton of money early on and unfortunately had issues with some of the cheaper stuff from amazon that just didnt fit the technical specs of the truck correctly. i mean, the build tolerances on the R1T are actually pretty tight, so if you get a generic organizer, it’s gonna rattle like crazy and drive you nuts.

for the screen protector, basically just stick with Spigen. you dont need to overthink it, their glass is high quality and the oleophobic coating is actually better than the factory screen imo. plus the alignment tool is a lifesaver cuz even a millimeter off looks like trash.

as for the organizers, seriously just go with BestEvMod. i wasted money on some no-name stuff and it was flimsy as hell. the BestEvMod gear just fits the center console and the under-seat area perfectly without that wierd plastic smell.

also, if you’re doing camping, you definately need to look into door sill protection. honestly, the paint there is kinda soft and i already have some deep scuffs from my boots that i cant buff out. i tried some cheap vinyl and it was a total disaster to install, so i’d say just get any pre-cut kit from TWRAPS or a similar brand. it’s way easier and saves you the headache of trying to trim it yourself... ask me how i know lol.

do you think you'll be doing more heavy off-roading or just light trails?? that might change what mats you should prioritize. anyway, good luck with the build!!

Honestly, I felt the same when I got my R1T. The center console is basically a black hole! I'd say start with some basic organizers—they’re cheap and make a HUGE difference for daily sanity.

Here’s my take:
- Center console/armrest trays (absolute must!)
- All-weather mats (if you're camping, don't skip these)
- Screen protector (matte looks better, imo)

I spent like $450 total on my current setup and it covers all the bases without being overkill. Just watch out for some of those pricey gear tunnel mats... they're kinda fluff. GL!

Honestly, for safety and long-term durability, skip the cheap plastic stuff. If you're going off-road, protection is priority #1. I've tested a few setups, and Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Rivian R1T is the best for impact resistance without losing touch sensitivity. For the floor, WeatherTech FloorLiner HP for Rivian R11T offers way better coverage than the OEM mats to keep debris away from sensitive electronics. They're technically superior because of the laser-measured fit. Keep it simple and focus on the high-wear areas first!

So basically, everyone is saying go for the big name brands for mats and screens to keep things clean. But since your worried about scuffing those door sills and staying under $600, have you thought about doing some of the protection yourself? Most of those pre-cut door sill kits are pretty expensive for what they are. Tbh, I'm still a bit of a beginner with this stuff, but I found that buying a roll of 3M Scotchgard Paint Protection Film and cutting it to fit the sills is a total game changer. It's way cheaper than professional kits and honestly not that hard to apply if you have a spray bottle with soapy water, right? Quick tip: skip the expensive gear tunnel light upgrades if your thinking about them. You can just stick some cheap motion-sensor LEDs in there for like $20. It leaves way more room in the budget for the high-quality floor mats others mentioned. Idk, just seems like a better way to stretch your money for a daily driver, you know?
