Hey everyone! I just finally took delivery of my R1S last week, and I’m absolutely loving the drive so far. The minimalist interior is beautiful, but after a few trips to the trailhead with the kids and the dog, I’m realizing I need to gear up to keep this cabin looking fresh.

Since the Rivian has that massive open center console, I’ve already noticed it’s becoming a bit of a 'black hole' for my keys and sunglasses. I’m also a bit worried about the floor—especially with hiking season in full swing. I’ve been looking at some all-weather floor mats, but I’m torn between the official Rivian ones and some of the aftermarket options like TuxMat or 3D MAXpider.

I’m also curious if anyone has found a good solution for the glass roof sunshades? It gets pretty toasted in the back seats during afternoon drives here. I’m looking for high-quality items that actually fit the 'premium' feel of the truck without looking like an afterthought.

For those of you who have had your R1S for a while, what were your 'day one' interior purchases? Are there any specific organizers, protectors, or utility items you consider absolute essentials for a new owner?

yo! congrats on the R1S, i love it!! i've had mine since 2022 and that "black hole" console struggle is realy real, so here is what i suggest: - Grab the BestEvMod Center Console Organizer Tray for Rivian R1S to stop the clutter.
- Use 3D MAXpider Kagu All-Weather Floor Mats for Rivian R1S cuz they're way easier to spray down after hiking. honestly such a life saver!! gl!

Honestly, for safety with the kids and dog, I'd suggest the TuxMat Rivian R1S Custom Floor Mats over the OEM ones. They cover way more surface area so nothing slides under the seats. - TuxMat: Best coverage, kinda pricey but worth it.
- WeatherTech FloorLiner for Rivian R1S: Really rugged, wont budge near the pedals. Basically, the TuxMat feels more premium and stays secure for the R1S interior tbh!

Congrats on the R1S!!! I just got mine recently too so I'm still figuring it all out, but I've been trying to do some DIY protection instead of paying a professional shop a ton of money. One thing I haven't seen mentioned yet is the screens... they get covered in fingerprints so fast it's crazy!!! I ended up getting the Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Rivian R1S and put it on myself. It was pretty easy and makes the center screen feel a lot more solid!!! Also, for the dog and kids, I'm looking at the Canvasback Cargo Liner for Rivian R1S. It’s a pretty simple DIY install with velcro and covers the seat backs too, which is huge for hiking gear. I'm also curious if anyone has tried to DIY a ceramic coating on the seats? I was looking at GYEON Quartz LeatherShield to help with spills, but I'm a little nervous... is it safe for the vegan leather??? I'd much rather do it myself than pay for a pro detailer if it’s easy enough to wipe on... basically just want to keep it looking fresh without the massive bill!!!

> I’m also curious if anyone has found a good solution for the glass roof sunshades? I went through this last year. basically, watch out for those cheap mesh ones—they sag and can actually mess up the headliner clips... not ideal. i found that if you don't check the TSER (Total Solar Energy Rejection) specs, the glass just heat-soaks anyway. I learned the hard way that blocking light doesn't always stop the IR heat transfer, so the cabin still gets toasted. gl!

Not sure but I think the cheaper mats on Amazon are actually fine... basically does the same job as big brands for way less cash. IIRC they still fit ur R1S really well!

Re: "Congrats on the R1S!!! I just got mine..."

  • Saw this earlier but finally checking in. I'm really satisfied with my R1S after a long time with it, but i gotta say, you dont need to go overboard on the high-end brands. I've found that some DIY solutions work well and save a ton of money for actual road trips. Instead of those pricey custom cargo liners, I just used a Motor Trend FlexTough Heavy Duty Rubber Cargo Liner and spent ten minutes trimming it with a utility knife. It protects the floor perfectly from the dog and hiking boots. For the door sills which get beat up by the kids, just buy a roll of VViViD Clear Universal Paint Protection Film and apply it yourself. Its way cheaper than a pro job and does the same thing. I also use a BestEvMod Under Seat Storage Box for Rivian R1S to hide stuff since it's cheaper than most other storage options out there. Honestly, just stick to the basics and dont feel like you need the most expensive version of everything to keep the interior nice.
