In my experience, you're right to be cautious about the factory wiring on a 2020 Legacy. Over the years, I've seen too many DIY jobs go south. Honestly, for the best bang-for-your-buck without compromising safety, I'd go with the Compustar CS4900-S-KIT 2-Way Remote Start System.
