Hey everyone! I just recently joined the EV club with a brand-new Subaru Solterra, and I’m absolutely loving the drive so far. However, with the rainy season fast approaching and a few weekend hiking trips planned, I’m already getting nervous about those factory carpet mats. I really want to keep the interior looking pristine, but the dirt and mud are already starting to pile up.

I’ve been doing some research, but I’m torn between a few different options. I know Subaru offers their own OEM all-weather liners, but I’ve heard mixed reviews regarding how much coverage they actually provide near the door sills. I’ve also been looking at aftermarket brands like WeatherTech and TuxMat. I’m particularly interested in something with high walls to catch slush and spillages, especially since the Solterra has that specific floor layout and I want to make sure the fit is 100% snug without any sliding around.

For those of you who have had your Solterra for a while, what are you using to protect your floors? I’m looking for something durable that’s also easy to spray down at the car wash. Do you think the official Subaru liners are worth the price, or is there an aftermarket brand that offers better coverage for the footwells and the rear seating area?

For your situation, I totally recommend TuxMat All-Weather Floor Mats for Subaru Solterra! Honestly, the coverage is amazing and they dont slide around, which makes me feel way safer while driving!

Seconding the recommendation above. I totally agree that the coverage is key, but just a warning: high-walled mats can sometimes interfere with the seat tracks if they aren't installed perfectly. If you're looking for a more budget-friendly alternative to the premium brands, check out the Husky Liners WeatherBeater Floor Mats for Subaru Solterra. They're usually a bit cheaper than the high-end stuff but still offer great protection. Honestly, just make sure you secure the clips properly so they don't slide under the pedals!

Seconding the recommendation above! Honestly, TuxMat All-Weather Floor Mats for Subaru Solterra are the gold standard if you want that complete floor-to-sill coverage.

In my experience, I've tried many different setups over the years, and while the Subaru OEM All-Weather Floor Liners are decent, they definitely lack the high side walls you need for real mud. If you're looking for a slightly more rugged, "industrial" feel that's easier to hose off after a hike, I'd suggest checking out the WeatherTech FloorLiner for Subaru Solterra. They use a more rigid high-density tri-extrude material compared to the softer feel of TuxMat.

Also, don't forget the trunk! I added the Subaru Genuine Cargo Tray J501SCA000 because it's specifically molded for that EV battery hump. Tbh, it's worth the extra $100 or so to protect that rear carpet from leaky hiking gear. Hope this helps!
