I’ve noticed some rock chips near my rear wheel arches and I'm getting worried about the winter salt. I want something that looks OEM but offers better coverage than the basic Tesla ones. Does anyone have experience with the Basenor or Rally Armor kits? What’s the best balance between protection and a clean look?

Ok so I've been through this too and honestly, while Rally Armor is solid, they're kinda bulky if you want that OEM look. In my experience, the Basenor ones are a safer bet for style, but you gotta be careful with the fitment. Over the years, I've noticed some "no-drill" kits can actually trap grit against the paint, which literally defeats the purpose! I'd suggest checking out the EVANNEX or Spigen options too. Just make sure whatever you pick has a bit of flex for winter ice buildup. gl!!

Oh man, I feel u on those rock chips! Honestly, the paint on the Model 3 is lowkey fragile, especially around those rear arches. I've tried both brands you mentioned and for your situation, I'd suggest going with the Basenor ones. They basically look like they came from the factory but they're slightly wider so they actually catch the gunk and salt.
I mean, Rally Armor is literally amazing for protection—the coverage is INSANE—but they definitely have that "rally car" vibe with the flaps sticking out. If you want a clean, stealth look, they might be too much. I've had the Basenor kit on mine for two winters now and they've saved my paint big time!! Installation was a breeze too, basically just pop the clips in. Whatever you do, dont wait until the salt hits because once the damage is there, its there for good lol. Gl! 👍

So basically the consensus is that the Tesla Model 3 Mud Flaps look okay but lack coverage, while Rally Armor is a beast for protection but looks a bit much. If you want a solid middle ground, I've seen great data on the Ninte Mud Guards for Tesla Model 3. They're slightly wider than the Basenor Tesla Model 3 Mud Flaps for better chip protection but way cleaner than rally flaps. TL;DR: Go Basenor for style or Ninte for a bit more winter grit. gl!

Sooo I went through this exact same thing about three years ago right after I got my M3. Honestly, the mud flap game is basically a lesson in physics and budget management. Before you buy anything, just know that mud flaps work by creating a physical barrier, but they also trap a ton of gunk behind them if you aren't careful.
Warning: Check the build-up every few months because:
- Wet salt and sand get trapped between the plastic and your paint
- Vibration turns that grit into sandpaper
- You end up with rust or stripped clear coat where you can't see it
I actually tried some super cheap ones from a random site first to save cash, but the fitment was trash. I ended up with a mid-range set that looked similar to Basenor but was a bit more flexible. Tbh, it’s been a decent balance of protection without looking like a rally car. Just keep an eye on that hidden debris! gl!

I dont know, I might have a different take on this. I'm pretty new to owning a Tesla but I feel like spending a lot on brand name mud flaps is kinda overkill? honestly you can just get any cheap kit from those big online marketplaces like Amazon or even eBay. They basically do the same thing and you save so much money. Id rather just buy some basic ones and then maybe spend the leftover cash on some DIY clear film for the paint instead? That way youre double protected against the salt without breaking the bank. Just seems more practical to me lol. Does the brand really make that much of a difference for a piece of plastic?
