The release date ?

Just saw this thread and had to jump in! Honestly I have been a total Tesla nerd since I first sat in a Model S years ago and the wait for this smaller car is legit killing me! @Reply #2 - good point! The rumors are honestly all over the place which makes it so hard to plan. Quick question tho before I give you a full breakdown... what is your actual budget? And how many miles do you usually cover in a day? Knowing that makes a huge difference if you are trying to be cost-conscious. If you need something now and want to save some cash:

  • Used Tesla Model 3 Long Range is probably the best bang for your buck right now. I love the range and you still get the full software experience for way less than a new one.
  • Chevrolet Bolt EV is a fantastic budget pick if you dont mind slower charging. It is dirt cheap to run if you just charge at home.
  • Nissan Leaf Plus 62 kWh is super comfortable and feels like a regular car, though the tech isnt quite as flashy as what Tesla builds. Waiting is tough but those are amazing options while we see what happens with the smaller project!

Maybe in the second half of 2025.

The Tesla Model 2's release date was initially anticipated for 2025 if the project proceeded as planned. However, there was speculation about the project's status in late 2024. Pre-orders were expected to start in early 2024, indicating readiness for a near-future release, pending confirmation from Tesla on the project's continuation (Electric Car Scheme, 2024).
