Which trunk organizers work best for the Tesla Model X Plaid?

Hey everyone! I recently took delivery of my Tesla Model X Plaid, and while I’m absolutely loving the insane performance and that 1,020 horsepower, I’m struggling with the practicality of the trunk space. Every time I launch or even just take a sharp corner, I hear my groceries and gear sliding across that flat floor like they’re on an ice rink.

I’ve been looking for a solid trunk organizer, but the Model X has a pretty unique layout, especially with the deep sub-trunk well and the way the rear seats are shaped in the 6-seat configuration. I want something that looks premium enough to match the interior but is rugged enough to handle heavy use. My main concern is finding something that fits perfectly without sliding around or blocking access to the lower storage compartment. Ideally, I’d like a modular system that can hold everything from charging cables and a tire inflator to loose gym gear and groceries.

I’ve looked at some generic options on Amazon, but I’m worried they’ll look cheap or won't utilize the space efficiently. I’m also curious if anyone has found an organizer that specifically fits the dimensions of the Model X Plaid's sub-trunk well or if it’s better to get a larger unit for the main floor. I’m willing to spend a bit more for high quality—maybe up to $150—if it means it stays put during those quick Plaid accelerations!

Does anyone have a specific brand or model they’re currently using in their Plaid? I’d love to know what fits the best and if there are any 'must-have' accessories you've found for keeping the rear cargo area organized and rattle-free. What trunk organizers are you all using that can actually withstand the G-forces of this car?

Quick question - before I get into the technical specs, are you looking to keep the sub-trunk cover *on* or *off* most of the time? Because that really changes the G-force math for the Plaid's acceleration!

Honestly, I've spent way too much time measuring the cargo area of my Model X, and I've found some budget-friendly ways to keep things from flying around without spending a fortune on "Tesla-branded" stuff:

1. **The Sub-Trunk Solution:** I actually use the Starling's Car Trunk Organizer Adjustable 3 Compartments which fits pretty snugly in that deep well. It's usually around $40, and since it's wedged in the sub-trunk, it literally cannot slide anywhere when you launch.
2. **Main Floor Stability:** If you need something on the flat part, check out the Fortem Car Trunk Organizer with Straps and Non-Slip Bottom. It's about $35 and actually has tie-down straps. I hook mine to the seat anchors so it stays PUT during those 2.5-second sprints.
3. **Modular DIY:** Sometimes I just use Rayson Collapsible Plastic Storage Crates 45L in the sub-trunk. They're like $20 each and you can stack them, which is perfect for gym gear vs groceries.

But yeah, lmk about that sub-trunk cover, cuz if you're keeping it open, we gotta talk about vertical clearance! 👍

yo, honestly I feel u on the Plaid struggles lol. That torque is literally no joke and basically turns your trunk into a pinball machine. In my experience, you gotta be careful because the sub-trunk is deep but the walls are kinda slick.

I would suggest looking at these two setups because they actually stay put during 0-60 launches:

- Tesmanian Tesla Model X Rear Trunk Organizer: This one is clutch because it's custom-molded for the sub-trunk well. It fits like a glove and won't move an inch. Plus, it's rugged enough for gym gear and groceries without looking cheap.
- Drive Auto Car Trunk Organizer: If you want something for the main floor, I use this with some heavy-duty velcro on the bottom. It's modular so you can collapse it, but it handles the G-forces well if you secure it right.

Tbh, I'd go with the Tesmanian one for the sub-trunk stuff. It keeps the heavy items low so the center of gravity is better anyway. gl with the new ride! 👍
