Best door sill protectors for a new Toyota Crown?

I finally picked up my new Toyota Crown in Oxygen White last week, and I’m absolutely in love with the car. However, I’ve noticed that the door sills are already starting to pick up some light scuffs from passengers getting in and out. Since the Crown has such a premium feel, I really want to protect those areas before any real damage happens, but I’m torn on which way to go.

I’ve been looking at the official Toyota OEM door sill protectors, which have that nice 'CROWN' branding, but I’m wondering if they provide enough coverage for the actual painted edge. On the other hand, I’ve seen some aftermarket stainless steel options online that look durable, but I’m worried about the adhesive failing or them looking a bit too 'tacky' compared to the rest of the cabin. Another thought was just getting some heavy-duty PPF (Paint Protection Film) cut to size, though that won't have the same visual pop as a metal plate.

I’m looking for something that balances solid protection with a high-end look that matches the car's aesthetic. Has anyone here installed a specific brand they’d recommend, or did you stick with the factory accessories? Specifically, how is the fitment on the rear doors for your choice?

Honestly, in my experience, I'd say just go with some generic carbon fiber style tape or vinyl from a brand like 3M. I've tried many expensive plates over the years and they always end up trapping dirt underneath anyway. A roll of high-quality tape is basically a fraction of the price and covers the edges way better than the OEM ones. It looks decent enough and if it gets trashed, you just peel it off and put more on! saves a ton of cash.

Oh man, I totally feel u! I was sooo worried about scuffing my Oxygen White paint too. Honestly, I went with the Toyota Genuine Crown Door Sill Protectors and I'm super happy with how they look. They fit the premium vibe PERFECTLY. But yeah, they basically just cover the flat part. I ended up DIY-ing some Xpel Ultimate Plus Paint Protection Film on the actual curved edges first, then stuck the OEM plates on top. It literally gives the BEST of both worlds! Totally worth it imo.

For your situation, I would suggest looking at Dawn Enterprise Door Sill Protectors for 2023-2024 Toyota Crown as a middle ground. While PPF is great for the paint, it doesnt handle heavy impacts well. Honestly, I'm kinda cautious about the metal aftermarket plates cuz if the adhesive is cheap, they can trap moisture and cause corrosion over time, right? The OEM ones look premium but coverage is basically just for show. If you go aftermarket, make sure it's high-grade stainless or just stick with a professional wrap.
