Like someone mentioned, there is a big range here between the premium Scosche fans and the folks looking for budget-friendly clips. I went through a bit of a journey before I settled on my current setup.

• I started with a really cheap vent mount, but the technical stress on the Corolla slats felt like it was gonna snap something.
• Then I tried a magnetic plate, but the adhesive just couldnt handle the heat on the dash during July.
• Eventually, I switched to a mount with a gel-based suction that fills the texture of the dashboard better. Basically, from a technical side, the dashboard surface in our cars isnt perfectly smooth, so a regular suction cup loses its vacuum pretty fast. The gel base makes a huge difference because it conforms to the grain of the plastic. I am really happy with how steady it stays now, especially since it doesnt block my airflow anymore. • Beam Electronics Universal Car Air Vent Mount - if you dont like sticking magnets to your case this is a solid choice for way less money. Just be careful with the vent mounts tho. Make sure to close the airflow on that specific vent when the heaters on or your phone will get way too hot. I learned that the hard way last year... definitely something to keep in mind if you go the cheap route. also make sure to check if your phone case is too thick for the magnets before you buy anything.
