Some solid choices here already, and I definitely agree with the crowd—going for a premium unit is the move if you want it to survive the heat and vibrations in a big rig like the Sequoia. The community usually swears by the higher-end brands for reliability. Just to help narrow it down though, what's your actual budget for this? And are you planning on hardwiring it for parking mode yourself, or are you looking for something simpler like a plug-and-play setup? Also, do you feel like you need a rear camera? Routing cables through the Sequoia's liftgate can be a bit of a pain depending on your mechanical comfort level haha, so that’s definitely something to consider before buying a multi-cam system. Tbh, knowing how you plan to use it makes a huge difference in what's actually worth the cash.

Just stumbled on this thread and honestly, over the years Ive tried a ton of setups in my rigs. If you want real technical performance, the VIOFO A229 Pro 4K 3-Channel Dash Cam is probably the best bang for your buck right now. It uses the Sony STARVIS 2 sensor which is a massive upgrade for night vision and dynamic range. In my experience, that sensor makes all the difference when you are trying to read plates at night. Like someone mentioned, heat can be a real killer for these things, so always stick with capacitor-based models instead of units with internal batteries. One quick tip for the Sequoia: make sure you get a long enough cable for the rear cam because that liftgate run is way longer than you think. Also, hardwiring to the fuse box using a kit like the VIOFO HK4 Hardwire Kit is a must if you want parking mode to actually work without killing your starter battery. Its gonna save you a lot of headache later on.

Jumping in here because honestly im in the same boat... still trying to figure out what actually makes sense for the sequoia without breaking the bank. i think i read in another thread that some of the cheaper units actually hold up better in the heat than the super fancy ones, but i could be totally wrong about that. iirc someone mentioned that the rear window on our rigs can be a pain for mounting because of the way it rolls down... has anyone else run into issues with that? basically just looking for something reliable that doesnt need a professional to install because im definitely not a pro lol. definitely dont want to mess up the trim trying to hide wires if i can help it.
