I just picked up my white Volkswagen ID.3, and while I love the car, the stock alloys aren't quite doing it for me. I’m looking for something that really pops against the white paint—maybe some sleek matte black or even a diamond-cut finish. I’m trying to balance aesthetics with efficiency, so I don't want to kill my range with something too heavy. I’ve been looking at some 19-inch options to keep the ride comfortable, but I'm open to 20s if the design is right. Does anyone have recommendations for specific brands or models that fit the ID.3’s aero needs while looking sharp? What setups are you all running on your white ID.3s?

Honestly, just check those load ratings!! I'm reallyyy satisfied with my current setup cuz I prioritized safety over just looks. EVs are heavy, so make sure your rims are actually rated for the weight.

In my experience, choosing wheels for a white ID.3 is all about that contrast. I actually tried a few setups before settling on the Borbet AE 19-inch Mistral Anthracite rims. They look *stunning* against the white paint! Honestly, be careful with 20s; they look sick but the ride gets kinda harsh and heavy. I'd suggest sticking to 19s to keep the efficiency high, cuz heavy alloys will lowkey tank your range. Good luck!

Ok so I did some digging and MSW 27T Gloss Black Full Polished 19-inch rims are basically perfect for the ID.3. Also check Rial Lugano 19-inch Diamond Black for that aero vibe! gl!!

So basically the consensus is that 19s are the sweet spot for comfort while keeping that high-contrast look on a white ID.3. I honestly went through the same dilemma last year when I wanted to upgrade without breaking the bank or killing my range. Tbh, you dont need to drop thousands to get that premium look. I ended up grabbing a set of Ronal R62 Blue-and-Black 19-inch Alloy Wheels because they have those customizable aero inserts that actually help with efficiency, and they're usually around $200-$220 per corner if you shop around.

If you want a cleaner matte vibe, check out:
- Dezent AO Dark 19-inch Matte Black Wheels – very budget-friendly (around $180 each) and specifically designed for EVs.
- MSW 27T Gloss Black Full Polished 19-inch Wheels – gives that diamond-cut look for way less than OEM prices.

Going with 19s keeps your tire costs down too compared to 20s. Just make sure the load rating is right for the battery weight! gl

I'm gonna be the one to disagree slightly here—don't totally write off 20s! I’ve been running my white ID.3 for two years now, and after trying both setups, the 19s eventually started looking a bit small to me. If you’re worried about range and comfort on 20s, the secret is looking for flow-formed wheels rather than traditional cast ones. Here’s what I’ve learned from long-term ownership: * **Aero vs. Weight:** People obsess over weight, but at highway speeds, the aerodynamic drag of the wheel face actually matters more for your range than a few kg of unsprung mass. You want a design that doesn't create massive turbulence.
* **Maintenance:** Matte black looks killer for a week, but honestly, it's a nightmare to keep looking 'fresh' against the white body paint. A satin finish or a dark graphite is way more forgiving with road grime over time.
* **The Proportions:** The ID.3 has a high beltline. To me, 20s just fill the arches better. I'd suggest checking out the Tomason TN25 Super Light or the AEZ Porto black. The TN25s are ridiculously light, which helps keep the suspension snappy even at a larger diameter. Just make sure you don't skimp on the tires if you go bigger!
