Hey everyone! I’ve been driving my ID.Buzz for a few weeks now, and while I absolutely love the futuristic look of the interior, I’m starting to get a bit paranoid about that massive infotainment screen. It’s definitely the focal point of the dashboard, but it seems to be a total magnet for fingerprints and smudges. Every time the sun hits it at a certain angle, all I can see are greasy streaks, which is driving my OCD a bit crazy!

Beyond just the smudges, I’m genuinely worried about long-term scratches. Since almost every control—from the climate settings to the navigation—is tucked away in those menus, I’m touching that glass constantly. I noticed a tiny hairline scratch yesterday, and it’s got me thinking that a screen protector is a must-have. I’ve looked around online, but because the ID.Buzz is still relatively new in some markets, I’m finding a lot of generic listings that don't specify if they fit the 12-inch or the 12.9-inch display properly.

I’m specifically looking for something that has a matte or anti-glare finish to help with the afternoon sun reflections, but I don't want to sacrifice the touch sensitivity. I’ve had bad experiences with thick tempered glass on tablets before where you have to tap twice to get a response, and that would be a nightmare while driving.

Has anyone here actually installed a screen protector on their Buzz yet? If so, did you go with a flexible film or a tempered glass version? I’d love to hear about the fitment—does it cover edge-to-edge, or is there a weird gap? If you have a specific brand or a link to a shop that ships high-quality ones, please let me know. How has it held up against the sun/heat so far?

For your situation, I honestly think a screen protector is a total lifesaver for the Buzz. I went through the exact same thing—totally paranoid about those hairline scratches and the constant smudges from the climate controls. I ended up getting a matte tempered glass one a few months back, and seriously, it’s been the best decision for the interior.

I was highkey worried about the touch sensitivity too, especially since you’re basically touching it for everything, but the one I got has been flawless. No double tapping or lag at all, which was my biggest fear. The matte finish is a game changer for the afternoon sun; it doesn't totally kill the glare, but it makes it way more manageable so you aren't blinded by reflections while driving. Plus, it hides fingerprints sooo much better than the naked glass.

Fitting was a bit stressful cuz it’s a huge piece of glass, but my current setup fits almost edge-to-edge. There’s like a tiny 1mm gap around the perimeter, but you barely notice it once it’s on. My only tip is to be super cautious during the install—steam up your bathroom or something to keep the dust down because one tiny spec under that big screen will drive you crazy lol. So far, it’s held up great against the summer heat with no bubbling or lifting. Definitely worth the peace of mind imo! gl! 👍

So basically the consensus is that a screen protector is a total must for the Buzz's huge display. Between the fingerprint magnet issue and the fear of permanent scratches from constant climate adjustments, most people here are definitely leaning towards matte finishes to cut that glare.

To save some cash, you basically have two main paths:

1. Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit Anti-Glare Matte Screen Protector for VW ID.Buzz - Around $35. It's the safest bet for perfect fitment and touch response.
2. LFOTPP Navigation Screen Protector for ID.Buzz 12.9-inch - Usually under $20 on Amazon. A bit more budget-friendly and still does the job.

Honestly, I'd say go for the matte tempered glass... it's just safer and works well for my OCD lol! Gl!

Similar situation here - I was literally freaking out about the same thing when I first got my Buzz!! I totally get the OCD struggle with those greasy fingerprints, it's basically unavoidable since we're touching it for everything. I went through this last month trying to find a budget-friendly way to protect that 12.9-inch screen without spending a fortune at the dealership.

I honestly learned the hard way to watch out for a few things:

* Don't buy the super cheap universal films—they bubble like crazy and the glare actually gets WORSE.
* Be careful with thick glass because it can make the haptic feedback feel weirdly laggy.
* Make sure you check the dimensions twice because some sellers list the old ID.4 sizes as Buzz-compatible but they don't fit edge-to-edge.

I ended up finding a matte protector on Amazon for like $20 and it's been amazing for the glare, tho I kinda messed up the first install lol. Just take your time with the dust stickers, right?
