The open space in the ID.4 console is great, but my stuff is just sliding around everywhere! I’m looking for a drop-in tray or divider to keep my sunglasses and coins organized. Has anyone found a high-quality one that fits the 2021-2023 models perfectly without rattling? I'd love to hear which brands actually stay in place!

Ok so after putting 30k miles on my ID.4 I realized that the real issue isnt just the organization but the rattling noise that cheaper plastics make against the interior trim. Ive tested a few setups over the last two years and honestly the fitment tolerances on some of the generic ones are just slightly off which causes annoying vibrations at highway speeds. If youre looking for something that actually stays put and uses high-density ABS plastic with decent TPE liners to dampen sound here is what I ended up keeping: - BestEvMod for VW ID.4 Center Console Tray Organizer - This one is solid because the rubber mats actually lock into the base so they dont slide around when you accelerate hard.
- BestEvMod Under Console Storage Box - I added this too because it utilizes that weird dead space on the floor and keeps my heavier gear from sliding into the footwells. The TPE material is ESSENTIAL because it provides much better friction than standard silicone so your sunglasses wont move a millimeter. Tbh its been a total game changer for the cabin noise levels.

Just catching up on this thread. After owning my ID.4 for a few years now, I've definitely learned the hard way about that open console design. It reminds me of a trip I took right after I got the car.

  • I had a handful of loose change and a metal pen just sitting in that open area.
  • Every time I hit a bump, the rattling was so loud I thought something was wrong with the suspension.
  • I actually pulled over on the shoulder because I was convinced a bolt had come loose somewhere in the dash.
  • Spent twenty minutes looking under the car with a phone light before I realized it was just my spare change bouncing around like a pinball machine. Its kinda funny how a quiet EV makes every little sliding object sound like a major mechanical failure. Good luck getting it sorted out, it really makes a difference once you find a setup that works for you.

Oh man, I totally feel u on this! When I first got my ID.4, my sunglasses were literally flying across the console every time I took a sharp turn. Super annoying, right?? Honestly, you dont need to spend a ton of money to fix this. I've tried a few, and for the price, the budget-friendly ones on Amazon are actually legit.

Here's what I'm using now:
- Vesul Center Console Organizer Tray for 2021 2022 2023 VW ID.4 – This one is basically a steal at around $15-$20 and it fits perfectly.
- It has these rubber liners so stuff doesnt rattle at all (highkey my biggest pet peeve).
- There's a dedicated spot for coins and a deeper section for my shades.

Basically, it just drops right in. I thought it might be flimsy since it's cheap, but it's held up great for over a year now. Pro tip: make sure you get the one with the colored trim that matches your interior stitching... looks way more OEM that way. GL with the organization! 👍
