Hey ID.3 crew! 👋 Getting prepped for the winter driving season in my 2022 ID.3 and seriously struggling to find a decent phone holder. I've tried those cheap vent clip ones, but they keep falling off, especially when the heat's blasting. I do a lot of delivery driving around Manchester (UK) these days, so I *really* need something reliable that won't send my phone flying into the footwell mid-route! I'm thinking something that mounts on the dash or maybe even the cup holder? My budget's around £30-£40. Anyone found a phone holder that actually works well in their ID.3 and doesn't damage the dashboard? What are your recommendations? I'm desperate for some help before the proper snow hits! Thanks in advance!

  • I have the technical breakdown you need for the ID.3 interior! For delivery work, you need high-G stability that those cheap vent clips just cant provide. I have compared the leading specs and there are two clear winners for this car. First is the Brodit ProClip for Volkswagen ID.3 855610. This isnt some generic mount; it is a custom-engineered bracket made of high-grade ABS plastic that snaps into the dash seams. It provides a fixed, rattle-free platform thats perfect for heavy use! If you prefer magnetic speed, the Spigen OneTap Magnetic Car Mount MagFit is a fantastic alternative. It features a reinforced suction base designed to adhere to textured surfaces, which is vital for the ID.3 dashboard material. TL;DR: Get the Brodit ProClip for maximum mechanical security or the Spigen OneTap for the speed of MagSafe docking!

Hey there! I totally get your pain with the phone holder struggle, especially juggling deliveries in Manchester's winter weather. Been there, done that (though maybe not in an ID.3 specifically!). Those vent clips are a nightmare, aren't they?

Instead of dash mounts or cupholders (which can be awkward), have you considered a Brodit ProClip mount combined with a phone-specific holder? I've been using Brodit mounts for years across different cars and they're rock solid. They're car-specific, so they clip onto your dash without any drilling or damage. Seriously, no sticky pads that melt in the sun or leave residue! They're a bit pricier upfront, but the build quality is top-notch and they last forever – way better than replacing cheapos every few months.

For your ID.3, you'd be looking at around £25-£30 for the ProClip itself. Then you need the actual phone holder part, which depends on your phone. They have adjustable ones that fit pretty much anything, or specific ones for iPhones/Samsung etc. Those range from £20-£40. So, slightly over your initial budget *if* you go for a fancy phone-specific holder, but well worth it in my opinion.

I know what it's like needing a reliable phone holder. I do a lot of driving for work myself, and before I got a Brodit, my phone ended up under the seat more times than I care to admit! The peace of mind knowing it's securely mounted is worth the extra few quid. Check out their website (brodit.com) and see what's available for your ID.3. It's a two-part system, so make sure you get both the ProClip (the car mount) AND the phone holder itself. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions!

Hey! I hear you on the phone holder woes, especially with deliveries. Those vent clips *are* rubbish. Instead of dash mounts (which can sometimes leave marks), have you considered a CD slot mount? I know, weird, right? But a lot of newer cars don't even *have* CDs anymore, so it's often unused space.

I've used the Mpow CD slot phone holder in my old Golf for years (you can find them on Amazon for around £15-£25), and it's been rock solid. It's really easy to install, just slides right in, and the phone sits at a good height. Plus, it keeps the phone out of direct sunlight, which is a bonus. Just make sure to check the dimensions to ensure it doesn't block any important controls in your ID.3. I'd double-check compatibility on the Amazon listing before buying. Hope this helps!

Hey! Totally get the phone holder struggles, especially in delivery driving! Forget the vent clips and dash mounts – they're a false economy! Have you thought about a magnetic mount that attaches to the CD player slot? Okay, okay, I know - who uses CDs anymore, right? BUT, hear me out! They're super stable, usually well-made, and you can pick up a decent one on Amazon for around £15-£20. I've been using a Mpow magnetic mount in my old Golf (before I got my ID.3!) for YEARS!

Seriously, think about the *long-term* cost! A cheap £5 vent clip might last a month, while a good magnetic mount will last for years! Plus, no sticky residue on your dash. And hey, speaking of long-term costs... are you checking your tyre tread? I'm down to 3/32" on mine, and I'm looking at a new set soon. Safety first, always! Let me know if you want recommendations on tyre brands too. Happy to help!
