I just picked up my new GTI and I'm absolutely loving the drive, but the interior feels like it needs a few finishing touches to keep it looking sharp. I’m mainly looking for practical upgrades that help with organization and protection. I’ve been considering some high-quality all-weather floor mats to protect the carpet from daily wear, and I’m definitely eyeing a tempered glass screen protector for the infotainment system to avoid those annoying fingerprints. I also noticed the center console is a bit of a deep pit—has anyone found a good tray or organizer that fits perfectly? What are the absolute essential interior accessories you’d recommend for a new owner to keep the cabin functional and clean?

So, I just picked mine up too and honestly, over the years I've tried many different setups, and you really gotta focus on protection first. In my experience, dont go cheap on the mats because sliding carpets are a legit safety hazard. I highly recommend the WeatherTech FloorLiner for Volkswagen Golf GTI because they fit like a glove and keep the mud off your actual carpet. For that infotainment screen, I went with the Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Volkswagen 10-inch Infotainment to stop those greasy fingerprints—its basically essential if you want it to stay looking new. And yeah, that center console is like a black hole lol. I found that the JKCOVER Center Console Organizer Tray for VW Golf GTI MK8 fits perfectly and actually lets you organize your stuff instead of just piling it in there. Just be careful installing the screen protector so ur not stuck with bubbles... gl!

Seconding the mats above!! Honestly, be careful with the gloss trim... I suggest Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer Cleaner 16oz cuz its pH-neutral and wont scratch that super sensitive piano black.

Saw this earlier but just now responding. Quick question—before I give advice, I’m curious about a couple things:
- What's your environment like? Like, heavy snow and mud or just dry city driving?
- Do you prefer the clean OEM look or is rugged aftermarket stuff okay?

Tbh, knowing ur budget and how much gear you carry daily would basically help a ton before I suggest specific setups... it really depends on ur needs! gl.
