I just took delivery of my new Volkswagen ID.4 last week, and while I absolutely love the driving experience, the interior feels a little 'empty' and could definitely use some organizational help. Since the center console design is a bit unique and there's so much open floor space, I’m looking for suggestions on how to make the cabin more functional for daily use.
I’ve been looking at things like custom-fit floor mats (since the factory ones seem a bit thin) and maybe a screen protector for that massive infotainment display to avoid fingerprints. I’m also curious if anyone has found a good solution for the center console storage—it's deep, but things just seem to get lost in there. My budget is pretty flexible, but I'm mainly looking for high-quality items that fit the clean aesthetic of the car without looking like cheap afterthoughts.
Are there any specific organizers, sunshades, or must-have protective accessories you’ve added that actually make a difference? I'd love to hear what you guys consider essential for keeping the interior looking sharp and staying organized!
Seconding the recommendation above! Honestly, I was in the exact same boat when I got mine. The open floor space is cool but things literally just slide everywhere lol. I'm still kinda new to the EV world, but I've found some budget-friendly ways to tighten things up without breaking the bank.
I actually went with the Lasfit Floor Mats for Volkswagen ID.4 2021-2023 because they're way cheaper than the WeatherTech ones but still have that precise, high-wall fit to catch all the dirt. Plus, since you mentioned the deep console, I added a Vesul Armrest Storage Box Organizer for VW ID.4 which basically creates a second tier so my wallet and keys don't fall into the abyss.
Also, if you're worried about the sun/heat, I'm super satisfied with the EcoNour Car Windshield Sun Shade 2-Piece Adjustable. It's cheap and fits that massive windshield surprisingly well. Anyway, hope that helps you get organized, it definitely makes the car feel more "finished" right?

Congrats on the new ride! Honestly, that "empty" feeling is real. In my experience, the first thing you need is a YURIK Center Console Organizer Tray for VW ID.4. It basically adds a top tier so your keys and coins dont get lost in that deep pit. For the floors, I've tried many but WeatherTech FloorLiner DigitalFit for Volkswagen ID.4 are the gold standard for protection. Also, grab a Spigen Glas.tR Slim Screen Protector for VW ID.4 12-inch to kill those smudges. gl!
Did this last week, worked perfectly
