Essential trunk organizers for an Audi Q7 family vehicle?

Hey everyone! We recently upgraded to a 2021 Audi Q7 to accommodate our growing family, and while we absolutely love the drive and the interior tech, the cargo space situation is starting to stress me out. With the third row up, space is obviously tight, but even with it down, things just seem to slide everywhere during school runs and weekend trips.

Between the kids' soccer gear, a stroller, the inevitable 'emergency' bag of snacks and changes of clothes, and our weekly grocery hauls, the back of the car currently looks like a disaster zone. I’m really worried about heavy items shifting around and scratching the interior panels, or worse, a grocery bag tipping over and leaking into the upholstery.

I’ve been looking at some generic options online, but I’m specifically wondering what fits best in the Q7’s unique dimensions. I’ve noticed the recessed areas on the sides of the trunk—are there specific nets or bins that utilize that space well? Also, does anyone have a recommendation for a collapsible organizer that doesn't slide around on the factory carpet? I’m looking for something durable that can handle a bit of weight but is easy to remove when I need to pop that third row back up for the grandparents.

I'm willing to spend a bit more for something that feels high-quality and matches the Audi aesthetic, rather than just a cheap mesh bag. Has anyone found a specific brand or even an OEM Audi accessory that they swear by for keeping a family of four organized?

What are your 'must-have' trunk organization tools for the Q7, and is there a specific layout you’ve found that maximizes that deep cargo floor?

sooo i totally get the struggle... the Q7 cargo area is weirdly shaped especially with that third row. basically, I've been using the Audi Genuine OEM Collapsible Cargo Organizer and it's actually solid because the bottom has these grippy pads so it doesn't slide on the carpet at all. honestly, for those side gaps, I just grabbed the Audi Genuine OEM Trunk Side Cargo Net and it's literally perfect for holding a gallon of milk or soccer balls so they dont roll around. definitely worth the extra cash for the OEM fit tbh!!

TL;DR: Use the OEM Audi collapsible bin and side nets for the best fit.

Not to disagree with the others, but I've had a different experience after hauling kids in Audis for over a decade. While nets and liners are okay, from a safety-first perspective, loose organizers can actually be dangerous in a crash if they aren't properly anchored. Basically, if things aren't bolted down, they're projectiles!!

I honestly prefer a heavy-duty storage system that locks into the seat tracks or uses the tie-down D-rings. It's highkey better for keeping heavy gear from sliding into your kids' seats. My top picks for the Q7 are:

* Rola 59001 M.O.V.E. Rigid Base Trunk Organizer - This is amazing because it has a non-slip base and actually stays put during sharp turns.
* Audi Genuine ZAW061166 Cargo Net - I know someone mentioned nets, but the floor-style one specifically keeps groceries pinned flat so they can't tip over.
* Stayhold Super Pack Cargo Organizer - These are plastic L-brackets that grip the carpet like crazy. You can basically build a custom wall around your stroller.

I mean, the Q7 interior is too nice to ruin with a cheap bag, so go for the rigid stuff. Good luck! 👍

TL;DR: Use a custom rubber liner with modular grip blocks for maximum flexibility.

Late to the party but honestly to stop the sliding, check out the WeatherTech Cargo Liner for 2021 Audi Q7. It protects against leaks and pairs with WeatherTech CargoTech Cargo Containment System blocks. These LITERALLY lock onto the mat to keep gear still. Its way more flexible than a fixed bin for the Q7's weird layout! 👍

Any updates on this?

Saw this earlier but just now responding... honestly, I feel u on the Q7 cargo stress. It's such a gorgeous car but that trunk space is lowkey a nightmare with a family. I spent a fortune on high-end stuff initially but was super disappointed because they either didn't fit the side cubbies or just felt flimsy for the price.

If you want a more budget-friendly but solid setup, here is what I recommend:

1. Fortem Car Trunk Organizer with Straps - This is my go-to. Unlike some expensive ones, it actually has straps that hook into the Q7's floor tie-downs so it won't budge. Plus it folds flat when the grandparents visit.
2. Drive Auto Products Car Trash Can - Seriously, get one. I hang it off the back of the second row. It stops the 'emergency' snack wrappers from becoming floor confetti.

I tried a generic mesh net for those side recessed areas but it was trash... literally ripped in a week. tbh, just sticking some small bins in those spots works better than any net I've found. gl with the organization! 👍

Honestly, after three years with my 4M chassis Q7, the best tip I can give is to stop trying to cram everything onto the floor and start using the vertical space behind the second row. Most floor bins eat up way too much square footage when ur also trying to fit a stroller back there. I highly recommend getting some [[High Road Contour Car Seat Hooks]] for the headrest posts. They’re great for keeping grocery bags upright so milk doesn't leak into the upholstery!!! Also, a technical heads-up for long-term care: be careful with organizers that use heavy-duty Velcro on the bottom. The Q7’s factory carpet pile is actually somewhat delicate, and after a few years of pulling those grippy pads off, the floor starts looking super fuzzy and worn down. If u want that 'Audi aesthetic' to last, stick to stuff that anchors to the built-in D-rings instead. For the side cubbies, look into the [[Carbage Can Premium Car Trash Can]]—it actually fits weirdly well in those recessed areas and stays put. Basically, keep the floor clear for the heavy gear and hang the light stuff!
