So we have this massive family reunion coming up in Chicago this August and my mom is already breathing down my neck about what everyone wants for the big gift exchange. I have like fifty different things I want from various places not just the big box stores and I am so tired of copy-pasting links into a notes app then texting them one by one it is literally the worst. I spent like two hours looking for a better way last night and everything I find feels like a trap.

I read about Elfster but then saw a bunch of reviews saying it spams your inbox with weird ads and honestly if my uncle gets one more marketing email he is gonna block me for life. Then there is Amazon lists but I really want to support some local shops and get some specific stuff from Etsy so that doesnt really work for me at all since you cant really add outside links easily or at least I cant figure it out. It is just so frustrating trying to find a balance between something that works and something that isnt a total headache for everyone else.

I just need something where I can put everything in one spot and send a single link to the family group chat. It has to be dead simple because my grandma can barely use her iPad as it is and if there is a login wall she just wont do it. Does anyone know a way to share a universal list that doesnt force every single person to create an account just to view it?

Jumping in because I literally just went through this for a wedding! You definitely want a universal aggregator that doesnt force Grandma into a login loop of doom lol. My top pick for this is MyRegistry Universal Gift List Browser Extension because it is basically a powerhouse for scraping data from any URL. It is amazing—you just grab the tool and it pulls the item photo, price, and details from any boutique or Etsy shop you find. A few quick tips to keep it simple:

  • Set the list privacy to 'Link Only' so your family can see it without signing up for anything.
  • Use the MyRegistry Mobile App for iOS/Android if you are out shopping locally; you can just scan barcodes or take a photo of a shelf item to add it instantly. The technical side of how it handles redirects is great tho, it sends people directly to the checkout page of whatever store you linked. No weird middleware or marketing spam like some of those older sites. Plus, it looks super clean on an iPad, so your grandma wont get lost in a sea of pop-ups! It really is a lifesaver for big family events when you have stuff coming from all over the place.

I have found Giftful Wish List App Mobile and Web to be the most secure and reliable choice for families. It is an amazing tool that keeps your data safe and doesnt send spam! You can add links from Etsy or any local shop easily. Crucially, your grandma can view everything without a login wall. It is fantastic. I love it!
