Hey everyone! I recently picked up an Audi A6 and I'm struggling to find a phone mount that doesn't ruin the clean look of the dashboard. Since the vents have that specific slim design and the pop-up screen is right there, I’m worried about blocking my view or damaging the trim. I’ve looked at some generic suction cups, but they never seem to stick well to the textured dash material. I’m ideally looking for something sturdy that won't wobble during spirited drives, maybe a MagSafe compatible one? Does anyone have a specific brand or custom-fit mount they swear by for this interior? I’d love to hear what setup you’re using!

So I actually went through this exact struggle last year with my C7. Honestly, I’m super cautious about the interior trim cuz Audi parts are so expensive to replace if you snap a clip or scratch the dash. Pro tip: you might find this useful—check out the ProClip Center Mount 854652 for the Audi A6. Basically, it’s a two-part system where you get a vehicle-specific base that clips into the dash seams without any glue or drilling. Then, you can bolt on a ProClip MagSafe Compatible Magnetic Phone Holder to get that clean, sturdy look you're after. I mean, it’s definitely not as cheap as those $15 Amazon suction cups, but the stability is literally night and day during spirited drives. Plus, it keeps the phone low enough so it doesn't block the pop-up screen or your view of the road. It feels way more like an OEM part than a generic accessory, which I think is worth the extra cash to keep the cabin looking high-end... gl with the setup!

So basically the consensus is that the cheap stuff wont cut it for an Audi interior... those textured dashes are a nightmare for suction and those slim vents are way too fragile. To summarize the thread so far: you've got the ProClip Center Mount 854652 and the Kuda Dashboard Mount Audi A6/S6 4G C7 as the heavy hitters.

Honestly, as someone whos super cautious about damaging expensive trim, here is my market research comparison of a few other solid routes:

* **Custom Bracket:** The Rennline ExactFit Magnetic Phone Mount. PROS: Bolted in, literally WONT move. CONS: Installation is a bit more involved and involves prying trim, which is scary if you're worried about snapping clips.
* **Premium Adhesive:** The Peak Design Mobile Car Mount. PROS: Super clean MagSafe look. CONS: Relies on 3M adhesive which *could* fail in high heat or leave a residue on that specific dash material.

I think the Rennline is the safest bet for "spirited" driving, but be careful with the install! gl

Seconding the recommendation above for a solid fit! Honestly, after years of driving Audis, I'm obsessed with safety. A wobbly phone is literally a massive distraction if it falls mid-turn. I've been using the Kuda Dashboard Mount Audi A6/S6 4G C7 which is leather-wrapped and looks totally OEM. I paired it with a Spigen MagFit MagSafe Car Mount and it's amazing. Super sturdy for those spirited drives, right? It keeps everything in view without blocking the pop-up screen!

Ok so I totally agree with the first reply, finding a mount that doesn't look like trash in an A6 is basically impossible... I had issues with those cheap suction cups too and they literally just fall off the textured dash after two days. Tbh I'm curious if your looking for something that clips onto the dash trim or maybe a console mount? Also, are you using a heavy case or just the phone itself? idk if the slim vents can handle the weight during turns.

Been thinking about your dash situation for a bit. Honestly, having owned A6s for over a decade, I've seen it all. My biggest takeaway after trying dozens of mounts is that those slim vents just aren't built to hold weight long-term. They will eventually start to sag or rattle, and its a total pain to fix. Here is what I've learned from my journey:

  • Stop trying to stick things to the textured dash. Nothing stays forever. The heat eventually melts the glue which leaves a nasty residue on your expensive trim.
  • If you want to keep the dashboard totally clean, honestly just go with a cup holder mount from WeatherTech. It sounds weird at first but it keeps the phone stable and out of your line of sight while driving.
  • If you're dead set on a magnetic setup, you cant go wrong with Belkin for MagSafe stuff. Just find one of their adhesive mounts and stick it to a hidden spot on the center console instead of the dash. Its definitely a trial and error process but keeping that interior pristine is worth the extra effort imo.

Ok so I totally feel u on this. I recently got an A6 too and honestly, I had such a frustrating time finding something that didn't look like trash on the dash. I tried some cheap generic suction cups first and it was a disaster... they literally wouldn't stay on that textured material for more than ten minutes. Plus, I didn't want to block that cool pop-up screen or mess with the slim vents.

In my experience, you should definitely just go with a mount from Clear Mounts. I think it's basically the best value for these cars cuz they design them specifically for the Audi interior layout. It sits right between the vents and feels super sturdy even when I'm driving a bit fast lol. It cost me maybe $35-45 iirc? Not as cheap as the junk on Amazon but way better than ruining your trim with sticky residue. Idk if they have a Magsafe one yet but the cradle version is solid! gl with the new ride! 👍
