What is the average market price for a used Audi A4 these days? I've checked some sites like Autotrader where prices are all over the place, like 18k for a 2018, but then forums say I shouldn't pay over 14k for high mileage. I'm in Philly and need to buy something within the next month for a new job commute...

The 14k price point usually indicates high mileage or maybe a front-wheel drive version which you definitely dont want for those PA winters! Here is a breakdown of what determines the market price right now:
- Engine Output: The 45 TFSI with 252 hp is much more desirable and expensive than the 40 TFSI ultra model.
- Maintenance Records: Prices stay higher if the owner can prove the DSG transmission service was done every 40,000 miles.
- Trim Packages: The Virtual Cockpit found in Prestige and some Premium Plus trims adds about 1.5k to the value. I suggest looking for a Audi A4 2.0T Quattro Premium Plus 2018 with around 60,000 miles. You should expect to pay between 17k and 19k for a solid example. If you see one for 14k, it likely has over 100k miles or a prior accident history. I have spent years monitoring these auction prices and the B9 platform is fantastic for a daily commute because the EA888 engine is so reliable when maintained.
