Should I go with the FitCamX integrated dashcam or a traditional BlackVue setup for my new i4 arriving next month? I want a clean look but need reliable parking mode for my office garage. Also stuck between TuxMats and OEM all-weather mats for the rainy Seattle weather—budget is around $500 for both. Which combo is better?
Regarding what #1 said about "The FitCamX and TuxMat combo is probably the..." - it definitely looks the cleanest, but I would suggest being super careful if you actually need that parking mode to work every single time. Those integrated cams usually tap into the mirror power which isnt always the best for long-term monitoring in a garage. If you are serious about security, I would look at the BlackVue DR770X-2CH 1080p Dashcam. It is way more reliable for hits when you are away from the car, tho it might push your budget a bit. Just make sure to get a pro to handle the hardwiring... you dont want to mess up the i4 electrical system or drain the battery. For the Seattle rain, the BMW OEM i4 All-Weather Floor Mats G26 are actually great for draining water away from your shoes. Better safe than sorry imo!
The FitCamX and TuxMat combo is probably the safest way to spend your 500. I went with the FitCamX Dashcam 4K for BMW i4 because I was kinda scared of a messy install, and it looks totally factory. For the rain, TuxMat Custom Fit Floor Mats for BMW i4 are a lifesaver compared to OEM. They cover the sides better so the carpets dont get ruined.
