What are the absolute must-have accessories for an i4 daily driver because the stock setup is driving me crazy with how easily it gets dirty? Seriously I love the car but the piano black trim is already scratched and the huge screen looks like a crime scene after five minutes of using the navigation. I just got my i4 eDrive40 last week and I'm already losing my mind over the fingerprints and the dirt. I drive this thing 40 miles a day for my commute in Seattle and the rain is already making the floor mats a disaster.

First thing is the screen protection. Im torn between getting the Spigen tempered glass one or just a cheap matte film from Amazon. The Spigen is like 40 bucks which seems steep for a piece of glass but I heard the matte ones make the display look grainy and I didnt pay for that beautiful curved display just to have it look like a 2010 laptop screen. But then again the glare on the glossy glass is killing me when the sun actually decides to come out for ten minutes.

Then there is the trunk and floors. I cant decide if I should just drop the cash on the official BMW all-weather liners or go with WeatherTech. The BMW ones look way cooler with the little i4 branding but I've heard they arent as deep as the WeatherTech ones and with the amount of wet hiking gear I throw in the back I dont want mud seeping into the carpet. My budget is about 500 dollars total for everything including some kind of center console wrap because the gloss black is literally the worst design choice ever made. I saw a precut carbon fiber kit and a matte black vinyl one. The carbon looks a bit too flashy for me but maybe it hides scratches better than the matte?

My wife thinks Im overthinking it but I want this car to stay nice for at least a year. If you guys have a daily driver what did you actually find useful versus just junk that sits in the glovebox? I need to order this stuff tonight because the mud is already winning...

To add to the point above:

  • Unfortunately, my wrap peeled. Get TuxMat Custom Car Mats for BMW i4.
  • Use ScreenMom Screen Cleaner Kit for fingerprints instead of spending 40 bucks on glass.

In my experience, you should basically skip the BMW mats. They dont cover enough of the dead pedal area where all that Seattle muck ends up. I switched to 3D MAXpider KAGU All-Weather Floor Mats for BMW i4 and the coverage is night and day tho. For the trunk, I swear by the WeatherTech Custom Fit Cargo Liner for BMW i4. Over the years I've found it handles wet hiking gear way better than those shallow factory options.

I totally get the frustration with the piano black and that screen... it is basically a constant fingerprint magnet. You might want to consider being very careful with the matte films though. They really do degrade the clarity of that nice display and make everything look kinda fuzzy. I would suggest going with Spigen Tempered Glass, you basically cant go wrong with their quality. It is a bit more expensive but the fitment is way more reliable for a daily driver. For the interior floors, if you are dealing with Seattle rain and mud every day, I would suggest you go with WeatherTech Floor Mats. The OEM BMW ones look better for sure but they simply do not have the depth to catch all that PNW runoff.

  • Get a center console wrap from Kies Motorsports Trim Wrap to hide those scratches.
  • Make sure to use a clean microfiber so you dont add more swirls.
  • Stick to reputable brands because the cheap stuff might leave residue on your trim and ruin the finish.
