I just started daily driving my new i4 and want to keep the interior pristine while making the cabin more functional. I am specifically looking for recommendations on all-weather floor liners and a center console organizer since the storage is a bit deep.

What are your must-have practical accessories for a daily commute?

Yo, just saw this thread! Since youre dailying the i4, you gotta focus on fitment so nothing slides under the pedals... safety first honestly! Here is what I recommend for value and safety:

  • TuxMat Custom Fit Floor Mats for BMW i4
  • Salusy Center Console Organizer Tray for BMW i4 Its basically essential for keeping everything pristine and protecting the resale value. Love it!! gl!

Respectfully, I'd consider another option because I think the generic accessories can actually be a bit of a headache. I tried to save a few bucks at first but I was honestly so disappointed with the quality. - JDMCAR Center Console Organizer for BMW i4 vs generic trays: The JDMCAR tray is actually designed for the i4 specifically. I had issues with a generic one that didnt fit right and would slide around whenever I accelerated, which was literally the worst. Plus, it made a weird rattling sound. - TuxMat for BMW i4 vs BMW i4 All-Weather Floor Mats:

  • The OEM BMW mats look sleek but unfortunately they dont have high enough walls to keep the carpet pristine if you have messy shoes.
  • TuxMat covers way more area. It basically protects the side walls too, which is great for daily driving. So yeah, the official stuff was not as good as expected for the price. I guess it just depends on how much mud you deal with?? Anyway, hope that helps! peace

I did a deep dive into the market research before I put anything in my i4 because I was honestly reallyyy concerned about the chemical composition of some of these aftermarket plastics. When youre sitting in a confined EV cabin for a daily commute, you have to consider the VOC off-gassing and whether the materials meet federal motor vehicle safety standards for flammability. I spent weeks comparing the technical specifications of various injection-molded polymers versus cheaper vacuum-formed options to ensure total compatibility.

  • checking the material safety data sheets for thermal stability
  • measuring the precise millimeter clearance around the accelerator module
  • testing the grip levels of different thermoplastic elastomers when wet The setup I ended up with was the only one that met my strict requirements for chemical stability and precise engineering tolerances. I mean, the market is basically saturated with generic stuff that doesnt account for the specific wiring harnesses under the seats of an electric vehicle. Its reallyyy worth looking into the industrial certifications before you commit to any interior protection for your daily.

In my experience, that center console is basically a black hole where stuff just disappears into. i think i saw some people talking about a specific tray that fits the i4 perfectly but iirc i just got a generic one and it works well enough for my sunglasses and keys. here is what i recommend based on my own setup:

  • rubber floor liners (the oem bmw ones are reallyyy nice)
  • center console tray insert
  • maybe a microfiber cloth in the door pocket i honestly feel like the rubber mats are a must have cuz they are soooo easy to wash down. i was kinda worried about them looking too industrial for a luxury car but they actually look pretty sleek. also that tray literally saved my life because digging for my garage clicker was becoming a whole thing lol. i am just really satisfied with how easy the cabin is to maintain now. gl with the car!!

^ This. Also, after living with these screens for a while, I realized they are basically fingerprint magnets. I used to spend way too much time wiping the dash every single day until I got smart about it. In my experience, you dont need to drop a ton of cash to keep things clean. Over the years I have tried the expensive stuff and the cheap stuff, and honestly, the budget route works just as well if you pick carefully:

  • Pick up a Spigen Glas.tR Slim BMW i4 Curved Display. Its way easier to clean than the bare glass and cuts down on that annoying afternoon glare when you're driving home.
  • For the trunk, I skipped the pricey BMW mats and went with a Mixsuper Cargo Liner for BMW i4. Its been through two winters now and still looks brand new despite all the grocery leaks and muddy gear I throw back there.
  • Pro tip for the charging port: get a small microfiber towel and keep it in the door pocket. I use it to wipe the cable if it gets wet or muddy before tossing it back in the sub-trunk so the interior stays dry. Saved me a bunch of money versus buying everything from the dealership boutique... plus it keeps the cabin looking sharp without much effort.
