Hey everyone! I’m finally taking delivery of my BMW i4 next month, and I’m beyond excited to join the EV community. While the car is already a tech powerhouse right out of the factory, I want to make sure I have everything I need to really maximize the experience from day one.

I’ve been looking into a few specific things, like a high-quality tempered glass screen protector for that massive Curved Display—I’m a bit worried about fingerprints and potential scratches over time. I’m also curious about dash cam setups that integrate cleanly without wires hanging everywhere, especially ones that don't interfere with the driver assistance sensors. Another thing on my mind is the wireless charging pad; I’ve heard it can run a bit hot, so has anyone found a better cooling solution or a specific phone mount that works well with the i4's interior layout?

I’m also interested in any OBD2 adapters that play nice with apps like 'A Better Routeplanner' (ABRP) for better data during road trips. I want to keep the cabin looking sleek and OEM+, but I definitely want to add some functional tech. For those of you who have been living with the i4 for a while now, what are the absolute must-have tech accessories you’d recommend for a new owner?

Curious about one thing: do you need live data for ABRP? If so, get this: - OBDLink CX Bluetooth 5.1 BLE OBD2 Adapter Its technically the best cuz it uses BLE... super fast!!

sooo i just saw this. tbh the built-in wireless charging pad is a letdown... mine gets my phone *so* hot it literally stops charging. unfortunately, it's not as good as expected for a premium car. here's what i recommend comparing for ur tech setup:
- FitcamX Dash Cam for BMW i4 vs BMW Drive Recorder: FitcamX looks totally OEM and has better 4K quality, but it costs like $200. The Drive Recorder is cheaper (subscription) but the resolution is kinda blurry. - Lisen MagSafe Car Phone Mount vs the factory pad: The mount is like $25 and keeps ur phone cool, while the factory pad is free but basically a toaster lol. TL;DR: spend the money on the FitcamX for safety, and grab a cheap magsafe mount to save ur phone from the heat!! gl!

Yo! Congrats on the delivery, youre gonna love it!! I felt the exact same way when I got mine. Honestly, for the screen protector, just grab any matte one from Spigen... it basically solves the fingerprint issue immediately and was only like $35. Seriously worth every penny. For the dash cam, I highkey recommend looking at FitcamX. It replaces the mirror housing so it looks totally OEM+, no messy wires at all. I was worried about the install but it was actually pretty easy. For the OBD2 thing, I just picked up a generic Bluetooth adapter from Veepeak. It plays super nice with ABRP and makes road trip planning way more accurate. Plus it was cheap! The wireless charger is kinda a letdown though, it gets soooo hot. I ended up just getting a ProClip mount to keep my phone near the vents to stay cool. Anyway, gl with the new ride! 👍
