I just took delivery of my new i4 and I’m absolutely loving the drive, but the standard carpet mats are already starting to look a bit messy with the recent rain. I’m looking for a solid set of all-weather floor mats that offer a perfect fit and high edges to catch dirt and spills. I’ve seen the official BMW liners, but I’m curious if brands like TuxMat or WeatherTech are better for protecting the footwell area, especially near the accelerator pedal. Does anyone have experience with how the different brands fit the i4's specific interior dimensions? I really want something that looks premium but is easy to hose off. Which specific brand or model would you recommend for the best coverage and durability?

Congrats on the new ride! I've been driving BMWs for over a decade, and honestly, the floor mat struggle is real. For my i4, I originally went with the BMW i4 All-Weather Floor Mats because I wanted that OEM look, but unfortunately, they were a total letdown. The edges are way too low, so when snow or heavy rain hits, the gunk just spills right over onto the carpet anyway. Not as good as expected for the price, tbh.

If you want the absolute best coverage, stop looking at WeatherTech. I used WeatherTech FloorLiner for years in my old 3-series, but the plastic is kinda stiff and they tend to curl at the edges after a summer or two. It looks a bit cheap in a premium EV like the i4.

Instead, I highkey recommend the TuxMat for BMW i4. They are literally a game changer. Unlike other brands, these go way up the sides of the footwell and actually tuck under the trim pieces so they dont move at all. Coverage near the accelerator pedal is way better than the BMW Floor Liner Front set, which leaves a weird gap. Plus, they have this soft, leather-like texture that actually matches the i4 interior vibes. Cleaning is easy—I just wipe 'em with a damp cloth or hose 'em off if it's really bad. Trust me, after trying basically everything on the market, TuxMat is the only way to go if ur looking for that mix of protection and luxury. gl! 👍

Respectfully, I'd consider another option before you spend a ton on the usual suspects. I've been through dozens of sets over the years, and honestly, the technical specs of the floor pan on the i4 mean you need specific wall heights to really catch everything. Basically, it’s all about the TPE density and how well they grip the underlying carpet. I've found that some "premium" brands are actually just overpriced plastic.

- TuxMat Floor Mats for BMW i4: ngl, these are the GOAT for coverage. They literally cover every square inch of the footwell, even high up behind the pedals. Great if you’re dealing with serious rain.
- 3D MAXpider KAGU Series Floor Liners for BMW i4: These are my pick for the best value. They look way more premium than WeatherTech because of the textured finish, and they're much easier to clean iirc.

If ur looking for that perfect balance of cost and protection, I'd go with the 3D MAXpider ones. They don't look like truck mats but still handle the mess like a pro... gl!

Just sharing my experience: so I went through this last year when I first got my i4 and honestly it’s a bit of a struggle finding the right balance between that premium feel and actual protection. I tried a few different setups, basically just wanting something that wouldn't slip around... Anyway, I ended up going with TuxMat and I'm super happy with how they literally cover every single inch of the footwell, way better than the factory ones imo. They kinda look like leather but you can just hose 'em off, so yeah, definitely satisfied with the value there!
